A low spec 3GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4GB RAM running

Ubuntu Linux for all APIs except .NET which was run under

Windows 7.

User Experience - Redirection - Use DeviceAtlas to accurately redirect visitors according to their device profile. DeviceAtlas identifies whether your visitor is a mobile device, desktop browser, crawler, robot or other visitor type, allowing the visitor to be directed to an experience appropriate to that device in order to optimize user experience.

User Experience - Content Adaptation - Use DeviceAtlas to adapt content dynamically, so that each visitor gets the optimum user experience. Whether the device used is a smartphone, tablet, eReader, or a low end device, you only get one chance to make a first impression. Ensure your site loads quickly and is easy to navigate. DeviceAtlas provides all the information needed to support content adaptation decisions.

Mobile Advertising - Device Targeting - DeviceAtlas high speed APIs and accuracy make it the solution of choice for the online advertising industry. By identifying devices in real time, DeviceAtlas enables granular targeting of advertising campaigns by device. Many DeviceAtlas customers from the advertising industry choose to integrate DeviceAtlas into their platforms.

Analytics - DeviceAtlas is an extremely valuable analytics tool to identify the nature of all traffic patterns to websites. Scrutinize server logs, build a picture of historical traffic, or establish the volume, breakdown and frequency of visits from mobile and other device types to your site.

Other DeviceAtlas Uses

Connectivity Analyzer - The Connectivity Analyser provides a means for measurement of the current network performance experienced by the device. This information can be used to determine the level of richness of content to deliver, so that even in congested conditions, a rapid page load time can be experienced by the visitor. This also facilitates addressing wider geographical markets, where connection speeds may be lower. The Connectivity Analyser is packaged with the APIs.

Client-Side Detection - The DeviceAtlas Client Side component consists of a Javascript library (bundled with the APIs) which may be added to a web page. It is optimized for use with mobile devices, and captures additional contextual information from the browser, which may then be either read via an AJAX command or returned to the server side in a cookie. This is then passed to the API with the user agent, resulting in the return of an updated set of values. This is primarily used for the detection of Apple hardware models with the iPhone & iPad since Apple masks their device model with the User Agent. The supplementary information may be used to improve targeting, analytics, or content serving applications.

Carrier Detection - DeviceAtlas Carrier Identification provides 5 fields of information related to the carrier your mobile user is connected to; Mobile Network Operator, Network brand, Mobile Country Code, Mobile Network Code, and Country Code. This feature is made possible by our partner Digital Element.

Nginx Inc are makers of the high-performance NGINX Web server. dotMobi developed a DeviceAtlas module in collaboration with Nginx Inc. bringing full device intelligence to servers running NGINX. It allows the task of real-time device detection to shift from the application level to web server level, reducing configuration complexity and optimizing the load on applications.

dotMobi partners with Digital Element to offer mobile carrier and connection type databases to DeviceAtlas customers. The partnership enables DeviceAtlas customers to identify the country location, mobile carrier and connection type (WIFI or cellular) of web visitors while further enhancing Digital Element's mobile carrier and connection type identification capabilities.

Varnish Software are makers of open source Varnish Cache Web application accelerator. Varnish embed device awareness from DeviceAtlas into Varnish Cache. The partnership allows Varnish to provide a high-performance device detection module as part of its software, significantly strengthening implementations of Varnish Cache in a post-desktop world.
