Evaluation

What did you like about your image?

I liked how my image used multiple layers to give a sort of 3d feel to a flat image. The way the jaguar is stood up on the rocks looking over them adds more character to the image. I also like the bright block colours I used for the background and foreground which added to the cartoon feel that we were aiming for with this image.

What would you improve if you did it again?Id improve on some of the detail within the image which would consist of the shading and colouring within the image.

EvaluationWhat did you like about your image? In this second image that I created I really liked the colours used to create a bright image that could be appropriately used in a children's book.I also liked how I incorporated a new skills ‘colour range’ to add some texture and realism to the image that you would expect in real life. I think I definitely improved on my first image as I have built up on my skills over the last task learning how to warp things more precisely.

what would you improve if you did it again?I think if I was to improve on doing this task again I would try to incorporate the colour range more with other textures such as fur and hair.

Evaluation

What did you like about your image?I liked a lot of things from this image as I think it turned out really well. I had good use of shading and detail throughout the image while still keeping it cartoon like. I also liked how well the colour range turned out for picking out the detail in the hair and adding some shading to the ear.

What would you improve if you did it again? If I was to improve this image I would try and concentrate the detail more finely, I could do this by maybe adding creases to the clothing or textures.

EvaluationWhat did you like about your image?Again I liked quite a few things from this image but I think my first image was much better even though I tried to take my previous evaluation in mind. Some of my favourite parts from this image I would say are the detail in the ears, the detail to the badge on the shirt and I also liked how I used the gradient to give the effect of what the shirt actually looks like.

What would you improve if you did it again? If I was to improve parts of this image I think id try get a nicer shade for the skin as I found picking out the shading in the skin was a lot harder than the last image to keep them more consistent throughout the face. Id also try to pick out a lot more detail and shading in the facial hair and main hair.

Evaluation

What did you like about your image?I really liked the way the pastel colours of the background and main characters show through the threshold really well and shows different types of shading throughout the image in their faces and clothing.

What would you improve if you did it again? If I was to improve this id maybe do the background separately to characters just to change the image up and maybe change it so that it had more detail.

Evaluation

What did you like about your image?I think this was my favourite of my images because it was probably the most abstract with big bold blocks of colour that naturally wouldn’t be recognisable until I put the threshold layer on top it gave this nice contrast picking up little details such as the text from the original Image.

What would you improve if you did it again? If I was to do this image again I might think about adding more colour and contrast into the image to make them come through the harsh black a bit more.

Evaluation

What did you like about your image?I liked the complexity of the image with all the weaving branches stringed together and how patches of the sky was visible through the branches. What would you improve if you did it again? If I was to do this again id try changing the exposure and aperture to bring through the colours and shading.

Evaluation

What did you like about your image?I liked all the different bright colours that were in this image, they stood out over the plain floor and wall in the background. It carried on the bright colours in the background as a different focus to the main one being the traffic cone.

What would you improve if you did it again?I don’t think there is a lot id change in this image as I really liked a lot of it but id maybe try cropping it down or adding something else to make it more suitable for a kids book.

Story Overview

(Provide an outline of your story)You can not go back and edit work through a PDF file after It has been saved as a PDF. This will make it very difficult if you plan on sending your work to someone to change for you or if you work from different computers and wanted to send it to yourself.

Export Format

PDF

Advantages: it keeps up to date with a fast paced workload, you can also secure your work with PDF using passwords, watermarks or encrypting data this will secure it from people possibly stealing your work or ideas. Also it can compress large files into much smaller files for you this will make sending to other people a lot easier.Disadvantages:

Deadline

March the 6th 2015

Audience

The main people I will be targeting for this project will be children aged between 2-5, it will not be gender specific as I don’t think it leans to a specific gender, they will be middle class people which attend public nursery or pre school.

Production Methods

The main method I will use for this work is rotoscoping this is because for a lot of the objects it will take a lot of time to get them detailed and looking good and as we have such a short time it will be difficult to achieve this without taking a shortcut by using original photos and changing them.I might also use methods from the shape task to create some detailing in my images. This could be good for bold big chunks like body's for characters or big objects on the page.

Final Script

Page 1) The family starts heads out for a walk to try and find a bear.

Page 2) they come across their first obstacle, “long wavy grass” which they have to go through.

Page 3) next they go through the next obstacle, “a deep cold river”

Page 4) the next obstacle skipping out a few from the original story to keep it short. This will then skip to “a swirling, whirling snowstorm”.

Page 5) they get to their final obstacle which is a cave, the family goes through the cave.

Page 6) the family see “One shiny wet nose! Two big furry ears! Two big googly eyes!” this is where they discover the bear in the cave.

Page 7) the family now run from the bear travelling back through the cave this shot and the ones to follow will now show the bear running behind the family chasing them.

Page 8) this page will show the family travelling back through the snowstorm and the river on 1 page being divided by two images of both the terrains.

Page 9) this will show the final two obstacles being ran back through by the family being chased by the bear still. They will go back through the grass and in through the door of their house.

Page 10) the final page will show the family all safe inside and you will also be able to see the bear walking away with disappointment through the window. This will then include the final bit of text which will be “Were not going on a bear hunt again!”
