At international level: French involvement in Conventions and Protocols Convention on Long Range Transport of Atmospheric Pollutants with its protocols : Gothenburg, Aarhus (heavy metals and POP) Rio Convention: Kyoto Protocol

At European level: all EU directives translated in the French Legislation EU Directives on air quality EU Directive on emission ceiling Sectoral Directives on Large Combustion plants, waste treatment, solvents, Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control Directive, now the Industrial Emissions Directive EU Directive on mobile sources (EURO I to EURO VI) (Road traffic and off road sources) Directives related to abatement of GHG, energy efficiency, renewable energy...

All these directives translated in the French legislation

At national level: a set of legislative acts for fixed and mobile sources Classified installations for the protection of environment, permit based on the use of BAT, Sectoral legislative acts such as for combustion installations (all size concerned from 2 MW), cement, glass, waste treatment, industrial activities,... Grenelle I and II acts defining objectives for improving environment Particulate matter plan reinforcing measures for PM reduction, National environment and health plan, focussing on PAH, POP, Chlorinated organic compounds, benzene...
