SAFETY
FIRST
Commitment to Safety• Safety is your responsibility✓ Never stand on an end cap, table, or rack
✓ Always use a ladder/step stool for working items above your shoulders.
✓ Wear protective eyewear, gloves, and boots or shoes that protect your ankle.
✓ Always pull racks rather than push them- you need to see where you are heading
✓ Use a pallet jack for racks that are cumbersome to pull or refused to roll with ease.
✓ If an accident or incident does occur; contact your supervisor immediately
✓ Never Spot Fork Lifts
Tips to Being a GREAT TEACHER
• Be Professional• Be Positive• Be Knowledgeable• Be Passionate• Be Inspiring • Be Patient• Be Approachable• Be Encouraging • Be Accepting• Be Welcoming
Stealing Time=TerminationTime theft includes: over-extended breaks. Merchandisers get one 15 minute break on the clock for every 4 hour shift.
Internet time theft- This is the use of technology for non-work-related purposes. This includes everything from browsing the internet, spending time on social media and texting
Time Clock theft- This includes leaving the property for any reason while still on the clock.
If an employee does not show up for their shift for work but has someone else punch them in or out.
Clocking in from another location other than the store you are working at. It is never acceptable to clock in from home
Excessive Personal Time- Spending to much time taking personal calls to deal with personal situations, or spending time checking and sending emails that is non-work related. Excessive time talking to co-workers or Lowes associates.

Working the areas by priority1. Storefront Area- this is your billboard- its where you will
make your first impression both store and our merchandising ability.

3. Garden Center Area- 3rd area of Area Merchandising- This is where the bulk of the product will be merchandised and where you will spend most of your shift.
How do you make your table P.A.S.S
• Prune or Pull distressed product• condensing • Adding Fresh Product • striping • big blocks of color • "low to high" facing • fronting • properly “Sign or Shine" the table • Sweep the area• stand back and make sure the presentation is high
impact.
StorefrontWhat do you need to know?
• You start here because the customer starts here.
✓ Is it inviting?
✓ Is it neat, clean, and organized?
• This includes the store entrance ✓ A-frames
✓ Store entrance display
• The Special Value Banners are important in this area
GreenhouseWhat do you need to know?
• 2nd area of area merchandising
• Never hang baskets over orchids✓ When the baskets get watered it will distress the blooms on the orchids. Also,
baskets sometimes hangs too low and can damage the orchids.
• Colorful plants get merchandised together✓ Merchandising color together and greenery together gives an organized look
• Always merchandise by pot color✓ Placing all the same color pots together draw the eye to big blocks of color
• Wick & Grow has special watering needs✓ Water Wick is advertised as easy to maintain so in order for the plants to
get watered we first need to ensure that there is water in the reservoir.
• Live Trends endcap needs full attention✓ Cool and trendy program that needs to be grouped together in order to
maintain program integrity.
Garden CenterWhat do you need to know?
• 3rd and most time-consuming area of Area Merchandising due to size.
• You will spend the remainder of each shift here after storefront and GH has been completed.
• Register Drop Zone✓ Located by registers, used for seasonal items and high impulse buying
• Monrovia- Branded product✓ Most important Brand for Lowes. You will have annual, perennial, and shrubs in
the category. Always gets merchandised together. Should never be found in other areas of the GC.
• Recycle Program✓ National program for Lowes. We save and store all trays onto the Annual rack.
