    Application Fee

    For General/OBC Category : Rs. 400/- + *Rs. 100/-

    For SC/ST/PD Category : Rs. 200/- + *Rs. 100/-*Rs. 100/- per additional department (if applied)

    IMPORTANT NOTEA candidate may apply maximum for four Departments and 14 different programmesbut ONLY ONE Application Form is to be filled-up. However, fee of Rs. 100/- peradditional Department shall be payable by the candidate. Admission will be madestrict ly on the basis of order of preferences for eligible programmes/GATEdisciplines.ELIGIBILITY CRITERIAA minimum aggregate score of 60% or 6.00 CGPA on 10 point scale for General/OBC candidates and 55% or 5.50 CGPA on 10 point scale for SC/ST/PD candidatesat the qualifying degree is essential for all the above programmes.ADMISSION CRITERIAAdmission will be made on the basis of either Normalized GATE Marks only or NormalizedGATE Marks and Interview/Written Test. For Sponsored candidates the admission willbe on the basis of Interview/Written Test and relevant experience. There will be cutoff on Normalized GATE marks for calling the candidates for Interview/Written Testand/or for preparing merit list for different programmes for different categories ofcandidates. The Normalized GATE marks will be calculated as follows:

    B.Tech. degree holders from IITs with minimum CGPA of 8.00 on 10 point scale willalso be eligible for admission with MHRD assistantship without GATE and will begiven admission directly.

    RESERVATION OF SEATSCertain number of seats are reserved for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBCcategories and Person with Disabilities (PD) as per the Govt. of India rules.FINAL YEAR CANDIDATESCandidates appearing for the final year of their qualifying examination are alsoeligible to apply.

    HOW TO APPLY

    The candidates for admission to PG/Ph.D/ PDF Programmes are required to download Bank Challan Proforma from http://pgadm.iitr.ernet.in and then deposit the above

    requisite fee in any branch of Punjab National Bank throughout the country by depositing requisite fee on or before the last date i.e. April 20, 2012. The Bank Challan willbe printed in triplicate. It is only available on Institute website and pay the fees through it. Bank will retain a copy and will return two copies to you. In those two copies, retainthe Candidates copy with you and attach the IITRs copy with the application form. For PDF, candidate canapply offline only by downloading application form from the Insitute Website on or before April 20, 2012. The application process will only be assumed to be completed whenfollowing documents are sent to the Chairman, PG Admissions office, IIT Roorkee, Roorkee-247 667, Uttarakhand on or before April 25, 2012.(1) Print out of filled on-line application or downloaded appli cation form duly filled (2)IIT Roorkee bank challan copy (3) Other necessary documents as per the InformationBrochure (if any).
