Early childhood experiences causes structural changes in the brain
Many individuals in the United States of America do not celebrate the first day of Spring (or the Spring Equinox).
It’s just another day to us, and we also lose one hour of sleep in March. So why celebrate right? Well, in other
countries the first day of spring is actually celebrated in various ways. In many Middle Eastern (also known as
West Asian) countries, the first day of Spring is celebrated as Mother’s Day. In Japan, the Spring Equinox (also
known as Shunbun no Hi) is celebrated for one week (seven days). On the day of Shunbun no Hi, Japanese families
clean and leave flowers on the graves of their deceased ancestors and also visit their relatives. However, there is
also a festival known as the Cherry Blossom Festival in Hanami-Japan. During this festival, many Japanese
families picnic under the trees or have parties. Similarly, one reason that America has Cherry Blossom trees is
because Japan gave America Cherry Blossom trees as a gift.
