Not education. Not being born with hidden talents. Desire. And I have written this article because of desires. I am driven by this desire to lead and be ahead from others through the ³ +3 direct to the midterm grade´ reward which might be awarded to me (fortunately) by our philosophy instructor Mr. ******** ***********. ³Out of need springs desire, and out of desire springs the energy and the will to win.´ Denis Waitley quoted. ..Same thing we experience in our daily life. That may explain why a man wants a woman who tries to be sexy; and on the other hand, why a woman wants his man to be excited when he sees her sexiness. Sex is the root of it, for we human beings need sex, so in response, we also desire for something that excites our body and mind. Isn¶t it? Indeed, we do things to satisfy our incessant desires. Putting into the picture Mommy Dionisia Pacquiao,many people wonder why she , despite her old age, still celebrates like a debutante during her birthday. You¶ll see her in her high-heeled footwear, in custom-designed gowns that she said would make her look like a "princess´. And to add, she still demands for a Green Hermes bag just like any other young people in the world. So keep on wondering while Mommy D¶s still alive...that¶s an incessant desire of hers²to be a glamorous teen star even if she¶s in her late 60s.(In fact, Mommy D won¶t have such celebrations without her son¶s influence and power in the world of sports and politics.) The GMA administration has also manifested its capacity to manipulate and corrupt institutional processes that could ferret out the truth behind anomalies like the µHello Garci¶ controversy and the ZTE scandal²through the power vested to them by the public. GMA abused her powers to quash the impeachment complaints leveled against her. She appointed an Ombudsman who is known to be a close friend of the First Gentleman«Anomalies and conflicts are brought about by power, and the desire for it. Comparing the two aforementioned situations, the former is lesser evil. Mommy D responded to her desire without sourcing to evil ways, unlike the latter, which uses machinery and secret techniques to gain power through the corrupted money. Hobbes, Morris, Schlick, Dawkins, Freud²the philosophers who believed that humans are essentially selfish, might have now fully proven that they¶re correct. The society we belong in has proven it. Yes,superiority makes man feel better about himself. But after all , a man must not be out of the pedestal because of it. A man must consider that limitations must be made to the actions done in response to the desires we have. Despite our selfish and aggressive nature, let us prove that we can still change for the better and be more evenhanded individuals.
