How to overcome initialization problems on HP Designjet 500 800

Transcript of DesignJet 500 800 Initialization Problems

Hi Bojan,

Hi Bojan,

This very problem happened with me once and it WAS ONE OF THE INK CARTRIDGES! Anyone believes?!

So, in addition to Andie's troubleshooting tips:

Turn the printer off and remove all cables connected. Remove ALL INK CARTRIDGES and turn on the printer. If the printer initialized normally and asked for the Cartridges, turn it OFF and insert the Yellow one and turn it back on, if it completed initialization normally and asked for the rest of the Cartridges, turn it off again and put the next (Magenta) one and turn it on and so on... But if after inserting the Yellow one it failed to complete the initialization process this means the Yellow Cartridge is the culprit and needs replacement, and if it failed after inserting the Cyan, for example, the Cyan would need replacement, and so on!

Continue with the procedure above until you know the failing Cartridge.

If, after removing ALL Cartridges the plotter also hanged, apply the above steps on the PRINTHEADS!

Hope this helps and please let us know if that was the solution or even not.

Regards,

Sa'ad
