Broader application choice.

By building in open standards and deep interoperability, IBM Power Systems greatly increase enterprise options for creativity and growth.

Radical innovation around products, markets and business models becomes possible for companies using legacy data resources. These innovations also make the most of the latest applications being developed, regardless of operating system. In addition, the flexibility of broader application choice allows the consolidation of diverse workloads, resulting in decreased operational and infrastructure costs.

Simplified migration to Linux.Little Endian (LE) Linux is now enabled across the entire Power Systems line.

In particular, PowerVM Little Endian support enables all POWER8 systems to run LE Linux distributions. As a result, clients are able to run Big Endian (BE) workloads and Little Endian workloads at the same time on the same server, enabling greater choice and flexibility.

For enterprises working hard to be more open, this makes it much easier to find or develop, test and run new LE Linux workloads on shared servers.
