The standards establish guidelines for English language arts (ELA).

Literacy in history/social studies, science, and technical subjects.

Students must learn to read, write, speak, listen, and use language effectively in a variety of content areas.

The standards promote the literacy skills and concepts required for college and career readiness in multiple disciplines.

Writing Journal Prompt – Students enter the class ready to critically think, cold write and pair-share on any given topic each day, building writing muscle as well as the skill to develop a point-of-view.
