Assignment 3 Pitch

My Aims
• As I am making a design for 18-30 year olds, I decided to make something that truly brings together and suits comedy, animation, music and chat shows. The channels below have inspired the direction I wanted to take with the brand and the idents.
Medium
• The medium I hope to be using is Adobe Flash. I want to be able to create smooth cartoon animations using an easy and flexible program.
DraftsI originally created 3 drafts on Photoshop. The first design on the left inspired
the final product.
Other draftsI designed 3 more drafts on paper. The large ‘G’ logo on the right became the main focal point of my final design. It was the most simplistic, distinct, memorable and adaptable draft out of the three.
How I made the final design
I wanted to
combine these
two qualities.
I came up with the final design by combining the ‘G’ logo with the ‘Splattered Paint’ logo. The reason why I combined this is because of the ‘G’ logo’s distinct and bold design and because of the dynamic and visual potential of the ‘Splattered Paint’ logo. This is important since some identsare often limited for its static design due to its logo being too complex.

These designs are important when it comes to being printing in small sizes or paper documents.
Other Variations
I suggested renaming Gritt 11 to Gritt TV. I felt that this name would catch on better with audiences much more than Gritt 11. Also if Gritt TV ever expanded to radio and film, the name and logo could be easily adapted into Gritt Radio and Gritt Movies respectively.

Costs
• Idents typical cost £20,000 each for well known channels unless produced in-house.
• BBC1’s latest set of idents cost £250,000 each.
• BBC2’s ‘personality’ idents had cost £25,000 each.
• Due to the relative ease of producing idents and because of the channel’s independence and lesser-known status, each ident will cost £10,000 each.
