BACKGROUND

PT Biznet build a network of Fiber To The Home (FTTH) in

Kelurahan Margajaya, approximately ± 1 km optical fiber network

is installed. There are several areas in Kelurahan Margajaya which

uses fiber network that is on Ahmad Yani street, on Kemakmuran

street, on Serma Marjuki street, on Sersan Idris street, on Letnan

Marsaid street, on Ir. H. Juanda street, and on veteran street.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

Design and planning of Fiber To The Home (FTTH) to Kelurahan Margajaya

with route the cable ranges is about 1 km in 7 area and 50 customers.

This report does not compare the current fiber optic networks with the

designing of Fiber To The Home (FTTH) made by PT Biznet Network.

FTTH network planning adapted to the design plan and service requirements

contained in Kelurahan Margajaya.

THE PURPOSE OF RESEARCH

This research aims to determine the selection of tools

and analysis of link budget calculation for optical fiber

network used by PT Biznet Network in the installation

of Fiber To The Home (FTTH) is appropriate and in

accordance with the requirements of data service in

Kelurahan Margajaya area.

METHOD OF THE RESEARCH

Literature

Consultation with supervisor

Collecting data directly in the field

Discussions with the organizers of optical fiber

networks

LITERATURE REVIEW

A team from Standard Telecommunications Laboratories (STL) headed

by a young Shanghai engineer called Charles K. Kao and another

young STL engineer who specialized in antenna theory, called George

Hockham, were trying to find a way around fiber attenuation.

Fibers are identified by size with 9/125
