The most obvious benefit of solar energy is that the sun shines almost every other day for free, plus the solar panels that are used to harness this free energy generate zero carbon dioxide emissions. Solar panels are made up of solar photovoltaic cells that convert the light directly into electricity, and the simplest solar cells provide power to watches and calculators, while more complex ones can power any building from homes to electricity grids. Solar Energy and its benefits in today’s society by Derwick Associates

Solar energy is a renewable natural resource; which means that it will never be depleted. It is an energy source that has recently been tapped into, and in the near future it could easily turn into the most important energy source for use in homes, commercial buildings and industries. When radiations from nuclear fusions react deep within the Sun’s core, solar energy is produced. The sun sustains every living being on the planet due to all the heat and light it provides the Earth, therefore at Derwick Associates we ask: Why not harness all its power to sustain our energy needs?

The most obvious benefit of solar energy is that the sun shines almost every other day for free, plus the solar panels that are used to harness this free energy generate zero carbon dioxide emissions. Solar panels are made up of solar photovoltaic cells that convert the light directly into electricity, and the simplest solar cells provide power to watches and calculators, while more complex ones can power any building from homes to electricity grids. The type of solar cells that Derwick Associates commissions for its client require very little maintenance, plus they can last a lifetime.

Solar power eliminates the problem of lights going out when the electricity is cut off or when there is a power outage, with solar panels, there will always be electricity. What’s more, solar panels are silent; therefore in buildings such as hospitals it is more advantageous to use solar panels for electricity generation as there will be no noise pollution.

At Derwick Associates we know that businesses and organizations that change to relying on solar energy can reduce on their carbon footprint significantly. The use of fossil fuels contributes to large emissions of carbon dioxide, and this contributes to global warming, however given that solar energy does not emit any carbon dioxide gases, it is a more environmentally friendly energy source.

Solar panels are also beneficial especially since they can be installed in remote areas. This is convenient for industries that are collecting resources in remote locations, and that does not have access to an electricity grid, but need to rely heavily on electrical power.

If a home is fitted with solar panels that generate enough power to become independent of foreign or other energy sources, there could be a chance for more investment for that home, especially if the energy produced is more than enough needed. A utility company in the surrounding area of that home could purchase the extra energy that is being produced; thereby using up what is extra, and creating the chance for the homeowner to make more money.

Solar energy can power a number of appliances and equipment in and around the home, including water pumps; there are also solar panelled hot water heaters, solar attic fans, solar-assisted air-conditioning systems, and much more. Pedro Trebbau Lopez

The world of solar energy is still a complex one, as more information and more ways of using it are still being discovered. However, the fact of the matter is that the technology for solar energy is constantly improving.
