Adam and Eve eat from the
Forbidden tree in the Garden of
Eden, creating Original Sin.
Moses leads God’s people out Egypt
and the rule of Pharaoh.
Abraham was the father of many
nations. Made a covenant with God.
Almost sacrificed his son through
God’s will but his hand was stayed by
God.
Noah was told by God to make
an Ark to save himself, his
family, and two of every
animal from the flood so that
they may reproduce after it.
The flood was to wipe the
wickedness from the earth in
the human hands.
David becomes a great
leader and forms the
Davidic Covenant with God

New Testament
Magi visit Jesus
Jesus’ calling of disciples
’ Resurrection
Later in his life Jesus began his
ministry and engaged in the
process of calling his disciples. His
process was confusing because he
chose the lowliest of all citizens to
be his disciples
Jesus
performed
many
preachings. One
important was
the Sermon on
the Mount in
which he
reformed the
ideas of who
are the blessed.
Jesus was born to the Virgin
Mary in Bethlehem and was
said to be a king on earth.
Many visited him including
the Magi whose gifts
symbolized his divine,
human, and kingly nature.
Jesus healed
many people.
He assisted
those who
were rejected
by society
because they
were seen as
sinful. Jesus
forgave sin
while others
did not
Jesus’ resurrection was a
necessary evil. He died for
our sins but an innocent
soul was lost because of the
evil of man
Jesus’
resurrection
was a sign of
hope for
many. He
showed that
eternal life
with God was
possible. The
Son of God
will come
again.
Paul’s letters provide the
theological basis for the
Church

30-500 A.D
The Death of Christ served as
the start of the Apostolic
Ministries in the name of the
church. 30’s A.D
St. Peter begins the church
as the first Pope. In his right
hand is the key to his
“papacy” (60 A.D). He was a,
and possibly the most well
know disciple of Jesus. All
Popes are known as the
successors of Peter and the
Basilica of which he was
named after still stands in
Vatican City.
St. Paul was called upon by God to spread the Word from
Jerusalem all the way to Rome. He is known for his letters
that he wrote to the places he visited. One of the most
famous letters that he wrote was to the Corinthians. St.
Paul was the biggest contributor in the spread of
Christianity. (45-67 A.D)
St. Stephen was the first
Martyr. He died in 34 A.D by
stoning. St. Paul watched him
die. He was the starting point
for many other brave souls
and made it a good thing to
die for your faith if necessary.
Council of
Jerusalem was
called in 50 A.D
to solve the
conflict between
the Jews and the
Gentiles.

the word of God to the African People.
To the left - Edict of Milan

Christianity in the Roman Empire
The Council of Constantinople was called in
381 and fought Macedonianism(a heresy
concerning the holy spirit)

which said that people could save
themselves without the help of God. It also
condemned Nestorianism, a heresy
concerning the identity of the mother Mary.
The Council of Chalcedon was

hypostatic union and fought
Monophysitism which denied
the humanity of Jesus

Pope Gregory the Great
Pope Gregory the Great is most commonly
known for his prolific theological writings.
The Eastern Schism
Constantine moved the capital of the Roman Empire to Byzantine,
modern day Constantinople.
500 to 1000
Monasteries were a way for nuns
and priests to keep the Church going
during the time of the Dark Ages and
were widely popular for Catholicism.
This time in history was known as
the Dark Ages, where Barbarians ran
through the land devouring all that
they felt necessary. Even though this
happened, the Church still remained
and flourished.

2000 to Present
Pope John Paul II, was possibly the most
influential Pope on the modern world. He
sadly died in 2005.
In the first round of Papal
elections in 2005, Pope
Benedict the 16th was
selected to fulfill the role of
the greatest Pope in
centuries, which made
some large shoes to fill for
Cardinal Ratzinger.
Pope John Paul II instituted World
Youth Day, and it has been happening
since he first instituted it in 2005.
Pope Benedict XVI has written terrific encyclicals. He is attacking the sexual abuse cases better than many expected, updated the new order mass liturgy back to its Latin roots. Coming down hard on dissenting clergy, though not quick enough for some. Communicating more with the orthodox patriarchs.
The Muslim leader and
Pope Benedict come to
terms with the
disagreements and find
that violence is not the
solution to the religion
problem in the 21st
century.
