The story so far…

DERI commenced on June 10, 2003 with initial funding from Science Foundation of Ireland (SFI)

130+ team members approx to date and growing

Acquired 20 national and international research projects with leading universities and businesses

Led by Prof Stefan Decker and Prof Manfred Hauswirth

Total research fund to date is over €40 million: SFI, Enterprise Ireland, and European Union

DERI’s core research activity is to develop and exploit semantics enabling people, organizations, and systems better collaborate and

interoperate

Critically, it is about information interconnectedness of people, organizations, and systems on a global scale

INDUSTRY ORIENTED RESEARCH

The eLite project is working with 7 indigenous Irish companies in the application of semantics to life-long learning as manifested in their future

product and service offerings

In the final year of a three year project. Once patent filed; significant technology transfer underway.
