The Umeco staff not as willing to have a photo outside! Inside main recep-tion with Claire Michel, Andy Shelton and Graham Keyes who have all be instrumental in creating 9 torches for schools in Amber Valley

Here we go. 8 months of planning, 8 hours of training! No turning back now, 7 paralympic festivals to visit! 3 days, 160KMs, Allez Allez!!

Leon Cycling through the rain! Who would have predicted this in August!

Stop 1. Lovely Warm arrival! Both from the students and heaters! Students from Brackenfield, Wilsthorpe and Bennerley Fields in-volved in our first Paralympic Festival of Sport.

Stop 2! Lunch and a break from the rain. I think we had a months rain-fall in 3 hours! Felt like it. Jonathon, Official Olympic 2012 Torch Bearer with Councillors Ron Ashton and the team at Swanwick Sports College.

Final and much welcomed rest stop! Chesterfield FC met by Kay Ad-kins and Mark Tournier with the Johnsons Paint Trophy and the AVSSP Torch

Stop 2. What a welcome at Derby University, Buxton. Two guards of honour, silver service for lunch. Fantastic events and festivals. Our torch was greeted by other fantastic hand made torches that morn-ing. We also had towels on arrival. Only thing missing was the steam room ! Fantastic stop off!

Stop 3. A fantastic 2 mile ride with 4 students from QUEGS (bottom right), 3 with CP and visual impaired students with Vince from Sainsbury’s Store in Ashbourne. Dom joined us for day 2 and 3, not sure if he is waving or asking someone to stop!? Caption competition if you have one please!

Felix, from Benz Bavarian and Liz, from Westfield also joined us for Day 3. Departure this time from Duffield. Lovely start to the Friday. Felix provided bacon cobs, some lovely cars to look at and a sunny start!

Stop 1. Etwall Leisure Centre and students from John Port School. Too many dignitaries to list here! Great event. Paralympians, GB Bas-ketball star! The Mayor two budding stars of the future!

AVSSP Torch has friends! Two South Derbyshire Torches, held by students from John Port who compete internationally for the county and the Lady Mayores. A quick spot of wheelchair basketball! Now that’s tough!

Stop 2 and the penultimate stop for the Cy-cle Torch Relay. Arrival at Moor-ways with stu-dents involved in a great Brit-ish Cycling event!

Stop 3 and Arrival at Westfield Derby-shire! Derbyshire Cycle Relay completed. 10 hours of trip riding, 13 hours includ-ing stops, 7 festivals completed. So many pairs of clothes and shoes used along the way. Great support from colleagues and partners.
