Library News

Our Library is currently undergoing stocktake. We ask that all currently loaned books be returned to

the library by students as soon as possible so we can complete this process.

Currently we are not able to borrow out books from the library and we will notify you when this

changes.

CYBERSAFETY

During the recent at home learning we saw a dramatic increase in students using and develop-

ing their skills and use of internet tools and apps to engage with online learning. Socially, we

also recognise a large number of students on apps such as TikTok, Snapchat and games such as

Minecraft and RoBlox.

While these tools are a great way to enhance learning opportunities and socialise, we remind

parents to be vigilant when monitoring students computer and device use.

E Safety guide

https://www.esafety.gov.au/key-issues/esafety-guide

The Australian government updates this guide for parents so that they are informed of the use, appropriateness and

associated risks of apps and websites many students access. We ask that parents inform themselves of the types of apps

and sites their children visit (for example, Instagram and TikTok are 12+ rated apps meaning that only persons 13 and

older should access and use them).

Keep a track of who your child speaks to online and remind them not to speak with persons they do not know.

COVID Safe Practices— Birthday cakes and treats

Living in the current COVID-19 environment has meant that we all have made adjustments to our day

to day lives and practices and at school we have made changes in the ways we interact and limit

contact to help stop the spread of coronavirus.

While we would normally allow parents to bring cupcakes and donutsto class to celebrate a child’s

birthday, we cannot currently allow this practice to occur under health and safety concerns for stu-

dents and staff.

While we understand this may be upsetting, we must all work together to limit opportunities for the virus to spread.
