My Job I lead the store team, making decisions every day that supports my colleagues to do their job and puts a smile on their faces as they deliver a great Shopping Trip for customers.

I work for Store Manager

The team who work for me Managers on Grocery and Fresh Food departments Stock Control Managers Backdoor and Warehouse Managers

I spend: 5 days out of 7 in store to reflect either the convenience business or 24/7 business including Sundays and Bank Holidays. Time on nights and twilights (if not 24 hour trading store) Majority of time working shoulder to shoulder on the shop floor

What I do Leadership I lead with a clear vision that my team share I live the Values, showing I care about people and treat everyone with respect I recognise the contribution made by my team, acknowledge their progress and celebrate success. I listen and share ideas with my colleagues I ask and respond to any feedback

Store’s Steering Wheel performance I am accountable for the day to day operations across the store, delivering the Shopping Trip for customers. I lead the team responsible for operations on replenishment. I plan every seasonal, trade driving and promotional activities to achieve maximum sales. I am aware of weather changes and react swiftly to minimise impact to the customer I use the current staffing targets, Budget Control Sheet and Right Hours Right Place to ensure I have the correct people in the right place at the right time. I ensure legal compliance by maintaining the cold chain at all times. I ensure the correct security and product protection procedures are followed for high value stock. I use my knowledge and expertise to identify opportunities to improve the store’s Steering Wheel performance, engaging and coaching the store team and supporting them with plans to address red lights. I lead the accurate delivery of processes, routines and systems across the store, ensuring the management team understand and are coached to deliver them. I lead and coach the management team to ensure seasonal events, trade driving and promotional activities achieve maximum sales, impact and presentation. I use flair and innovation to identify ways to grow sales and maximise store profit. I understand the store’s Safe and Legal obligations, coach the management team to deliver them and ensure that there are plans in place to address issues. I ensure the team’s shift patterns reflect the needs of the customer, and respect the work life balance of my team. Store Standards I understand what good standards look like and coach the team to deliver these all of the time I role model duty management, coaching the management team to continually improve their own standards across the store for customers and staff.

UK/Republic of Ireland Business Plan I lead and coach the store teams on the delivery and implementation of the UK/Republic of Ireland Business Plan priorities, ensuring each plan delivers tangible performance improvements I positively lead the delivery of step change, coaching the store teams to ensure that efficiencies are made without compromising the service offered to customers.

How I do it I take full accountability for the running of the store when the Store Manager is not in. I work flexibly, ensuring my shift patterns reflect the needs of the store and my team I lead a team, making decisions every day that support them to do their jobs and improve their performance I manage my team’s objectives I train, develop and stretch my team, ensuring a supply of talent is always available to support moves and appointments in the store I role model excellent communication, making sure every communication activity in the store is relevant and timely
