The Return of Captain Jack Sparrow

LOS ANGLES, Nov. 5 – Johnny Depp returns as Captain Jack Sparrow in “Pirates of the

Caribbean: World’s End.” Sparrow is one of the most unique and beloved characters in Holly-

wood.

“It feels very good have taken part in the construction of this guy, this energy that is Jack

Sparrow,” said Depp. “It was great fun being in trouble, it worked – even at the early stage.”

Sparrow has a diverse persona that most fans our fond of. His demeanor is different from

most characters including his walk.

“Jack’s body language came from extreme heat. I thought that Jack was out on the open

sea for long, long periods of time and he’d be subjected to the elements,” said Depp. “What hap-

pens when you lock yourself in a very, very hot place is that starts to affect the way you move.

You get very uncomfortable and that’s how Jack’s movements were informed.”

Captain Jack Sparrow is generally loved by the public. Sparrow has millions of fans all

over the world. Despite Sparrow’s faults fans still adore him even Depp is amazed by the admira-

tion.

“That was an enormous surprise as well,” said Depp. “The fact that audiences came in

and supported me was a win-win situation.”

The “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies have been box office hits, grossing more than that

over a million dollars worldwide. The success of the films was a big surprise to many even Depp

was shocked how quickly audiences embraced them.

“It was a terrific shock,” said Depp. “I’m still babbling over that.”
