Implementation Approach• A fresh start– Limit customizations– Not migrating history: limited to open GL balances, projects and employees

• Start with the end in mind– Solution defined based on Oracle requirements– Avoid later re-work

• Single global go live schedule– Not phased by country

• Change management– Training and communication plans as well as employee forums

• Use Oracle Functional Set-up Manager (FSM) where possible to automate set-ups– Be aware that may not include all attributes that you want to migrate– Breakdown into several FSM projects rather than single project

• Roles and security– Use standard roles as far as possible

• Training–Make sure teams trained in Fusion technology: Java, ADE etc.

Why This Approach?

Reduced Risk Through Phased Approach

Leverages Product That is Available Today

Ensures Revenue and Billing Functions Not Impacted

Single Source of Truth for Receivables

Minimizes Impact to the Close

Copyright © 2014, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved. |

Challenges With This Approach• Accounts Payable is split across Oracle R12 and Fusion• General Ledger consolidation from Oracle R12 to Fusion with operations

split across separate ledgers and separate ‘Chart Of Accounts’• Reporting solution must provide complete management and operational

reporting• Need to maintain a single source of truth for customers• Need to maintain a single source of truth for suppliers• Projects Invoices must be ‘bridged’ to Oracle R12 Receivables• Closer co-ordination of close needed as operations split across systems

Copyright © 2014, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved. |

• Manage as a program and break down into manageable sub-projects–Migrations– Statutory ledgers and sequencing– Sub-ledger close and the impact to the close process– Intercompany reconciliations– Flow by module– Customizations and localizations– Key functionality gaps– Source of truth for customers, suppliers and synchronization– Reporting including blended reporting with Oracle R12

Addressing the Challenges

Copyright © 2014, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved. |

• Disposition customizations and localizations• Scrub supplier list• Map standard functionality to processes• Understand in detail impact of close processes • Identify areas to automate• Review statutory ledger health• Review processes and simplify• Identify areas of migration• Ensure R12 projects can be leveraged in the end state• Review “Chart of Account” segment structure• Partner with business contacts; divide and conquer approach• Review applications that will still be on R12

Best Practices

What is the Current Project Status?• Completed workshop with business partners

covering 40+ sub projects• Each sub-project has ‘next steps’ identified• Build / test phase on Release 9 will start in October• First Conference Room Pilot is in planning phase• A reporting requirements workshop will be held in

November
