DEPARTMENT OF SPORTS PROFILE

INTRODUCTION

The Department of Physical Education & Sports establish in1974 is unique and

the first of its kind in Udgir as an affiliatory College exclusively for Physical

Education & Sports

The First Director Of Physical Education for Senior College is Mr. Jadhav M.G.

from 2nd September 1974 to 31 /12 /2004 and For Junior College section Mr.

Nanasaheb Jayvantrao Patil from 08 /4/1982 to 31/5/2013. He retired from

services as (Vice Principal ) for Junior college. From 11th July 2008 Mr. Khan

Nehal Ahemad Join as a Director in Physical Education For Senior College

Section as well as Mr.Mane Gajanan Wamanrao Joined as Physical Director for

Junior College from 01/08/2013

The College Sports Team participated in the Various tournaments under the

auspices of Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University Nanded and

Department of Sports and Youth Affairs Govt. Of Maharashtra and invitation

Tournaments .The Department also proud to have Organized various Tournaments

and Inter university Coaching Camp which not only improves the sporting Talent

of the students but also to help the students to improve upon their organization and

leadership qualities.

The Department organized daily Practice session in the college ,selected players

represent the college Team, approximately 20 Teams both in Men’s & women’s

participate in the tournaments

At present the college is one of the best sports centre in the city, providing

scientific Coaching training facility not only to the Shivaji College students but to

a large section of public and sports association for their programmes.

AIM & OBJECTIVES Department of Sports

Mission.

1.To design & introduce innovative integrated physical education and

various sports and games.

2.To produce competent health conscious personality

3.To infuse in the students spirit of competition and Sportsmanship that

will facilitate a healthy life style.

4.To provide Indoor & Outdoor Sports facilities to students and prepare

healthy Citizen of India

5.Impart Sports Knowledge to the Students

6.To prepare students for Inter Collegiate & Inter-University & Inter

Zonal Tournaments

7.To encourage Players to exhibit their latent Sports abilities

OBJECTIVES

1.To guide and assist in the promotion of physical fitness among

people.

2.To provide scientific guidance and assistance to the sports person ,

regarding the medical and health aspects of training in sports.

3.To print and publish articles, periodicals and pamphlets on topic

related

to Health & Fitness & allied science.

4.To develop sportsman spirit in the players.

ACTIVITIES

Since the beginning of the college , had been contributed a lot in the

sports Arena such as state level, National Level, Inter university level,

All India Inter University level in various discipline.

The Department of sports conducted various sports events competition

in department such as Athletics, Badminton, Base Ball Boxing,

Cricket, Carom, Football, Hockey, Hand Ball, Kabaddi, Kho- Kho,

Karate, Soft ball Table Tennis, Volley ball, Wrestling, .etc.

The Department organized daily Practice session in the college ,selected

players represent the college Team, approximately in 20 events. Teams

both in Men’s & women’s participate in the tournaments

At present the college is one of the best sports centre in the city

providing Scientific Coaching & Training
