REPORT OF SUMMER TRAINING PROGRAMME

Name of the activity: Free Summer Training on Bioinstrumentation

Date: 29.05.2018-02.06.2018

No of students participated: 44

PG and research department of microbiology jointly organized five days free summer training

programme on Bioinstrumentation on 29.05.2018-02.06.2018. Totally 44 students participated

from various colleges 10 students from Central University, 12 students from meenatchi

Chandrasekaran College, 12 students from M.R. government arts college, Mannargudi,7 students

from A.V.V.M Sripushpam College, 3 students from Idhya college, Kumbakonam. The

participants were trained in sophisticated instruments such as Atomic absorption

Spectrophotometer, Gas chromatography,High performance liquid chromatography, Flame

photometer, Fermenter, Conductivity meter, Molecular techniques, Semi auto analyser, muffle

furnace, Multifocus microscope. In addition to that demonstration on Edible mushroom

cultivation, vermicompost production, micronutrient mixtures prepertion and Tissue culture of

Banana given to the participants. All the participants actively participated and enthusiastically

interacted with us in constant manner for the past five days. At the end of the programme all the

participants were appreciated by certificates.
