IPB as an institution of higher education understand the
urgency of creating qualified human resources to develop the
performance of agribusiness in Indonesia. The development
of a dynamic and competitive business indicate the needs of
professional Managers, Entrepreneurs and Public Decision
Maker who could adopt various advance technology to
improve the performance of agribusiness.
The presence of Department of Agribusiness as a department
that provides agribusiness education, both in terms of business (firm) or system (integration between
various sub-sectors) would be the answer. The approach being used is business school approach which
emphasizes the understanding of the process business and
the stakeholders. The stakeholders of agribusiness in
Indonesia are wide spectrum, ranging from peasant farmers
to multinational companies, so the combination of
understanding of the various aspects of technological,
social, economic and management as well as
entrepreneurship becomes a necessity.
