ANSDIPP was founded in 1994 as a reference point for directors of Public Institutes for Assistance and Charity, especially for the elderly, and it assists professional development. The Association represents managers and directors who work at public and private facilities offering services to individuals (non-profit and profit). In 1996, ANSDIPP was accredited by the Ministry of the Interior. With Ministerial Decree of 5 December 2013, the Minister of Justice in concert with the Minister for European Affairs included ANSDIPP in the list of the representative associations at the national level for unregulated professions in Italy, as provided for by Art. 26 of Legislative Decree 206 of 9/4/2007. Membership in COLAP (Coordination of independent professional associations) is of the utmost importance and followed a process that rewarded the quality requirements promoted by the Association. On 27 March 2015, the Ministry of Economic Development included the Association in the second edition of the list of professional associations. Art. 2, paragraph 7, of Law 4/2013. ANSDIPP created the Italian professional list of managers in the social sector. Inclusion certifies the professional skills of the member in the context and field of services provided to individuals (social welfare and/or social-health services) in which it works, namely effective application of acquired knowledge. ANSDIPP's main activities are related to the promotion of the managerial culture and the management of social welfare, social health, health rehabilitation and, in general, social activities and services, both residential and territorial alike. The instruments adopted are first and foremost "training", which plays a key role in maintaining the ne- cessary quality levels and knowledge of the sector, while constantly developing new skills and more sensitive approaches to services provided to people. Other activities are ad- dressed to the research sector, publishing and the organization of conferences and cultural and professional events, in which ideas are shared on all topics concerning health and social welfare.
