Finite element method (FEM) design ensures perfect function of material and application

The finite element method simulates forces which are applied to brackets during treatment. The findings from FEM are immediately transferred to the design. This guarantees the perfect function of material and application.

Metal injection moulding (MIM) technology for superior premium brackets

In the MIM procedure metal powder is mixed with thermoplastic plastics and waxes to make it flowable and then the mixture is injected in a conventional injection moulding process. The plastic portion is then removed and the bracket sintered. This process allows the incorporatation of a better fitting 3D compound, contoured base in these brackets.

Single-piece manufacturing using biocompatible materialsAll metal brackets are manufactured with a single-piece design of highly corrosion-resistant, medical stainless steel alloys. They are therefore very biocompatible, with no solder being used in the manufacturing process.The range also includes two options of nickel-free brackets which are made either from titanium or from a specially developed CoCr alloy and are ideal for use with allergic patients.

discovery® brackets are the premium option in the Dentaurum family of brackets, created from the sum of many years of experience in bracket technology. discovery® is designed as a single-piece bracket and injected with a special dental alloy using the latest machinery available for the MIM technique – metal injection molding.

Innovative production procedures guarantee maximum success The bracket bases are optimally adapted to the contour of the tooth using CAD (Computer Aided Design) and ensure optimal handling. The anatomical contour simplifies positioning and bonding of the bracket to the tooth.

Optimal bond strength and easy debondingA reliable bond is guaranteed during treatment by the patented laser base, which creates an optimal bond due to the ideal distribution of micro and macro retention. The uniform retention prevents premature debonding of the brackets. This simultaneously creates optimal debonding characteristics. To ensure easy & safe debonding, discovery® brackets include a debonding channel which allows the bracket to collapse inward with pressure from a debonding instrument.

Individuality combined with easy handlingThe large tie wing undercuts of discovery® brackets also make them ideal for multiple ligatures. In addition, rounded tie wings facilitate ligating and provide intraoral comfort without sharp edges for the patient. All discovery® brackets include biocompatible laser marking for easier identification and positioning. The clear system of symbols makes it easier to assign each bracket to a specific tooth.


Dentaurum topic brackets are mainly intended for use with nickle-sensitive patients and do not contain nickel in accordance with ISO 6871-1. The brackets are manufactured from a chrome-cobalt alloy which was specially developed for use in dentistry. This alloy has been used successfully for many years in prosthetic dentistry.

Nickel-free* bracket using modern MIM technology The design and manufacturing process of topic is the same as with discovery®. The brackets are particularly impressive due to the modern manufacturing process using MIM (metal injection molding) technology and this provide excellent efficiency for the doctor and comfort for the patient: rounded edges ensure intraoral comfort and large tie wing undercuts allow multiple ligatures.

The uniform structure of micro and macro retention reduces the risk of premature debonding to a minimum. The bracket provides the rare combination of unsurpassed aesthetics and maximum functionality. Its compact size opens up completely new options for doctors to combine high-quality treatment with excellent aesthetics.

Patented laser structured base ensures optimal bond strength The patented laser structure on the base is highly biocompatible, since only one material is used. The use of other alloys and solders is no longer required due to the single-piece design of equilibrium® mini brackets. The bond strength is also greatly enhanced due to the uniform distribution of micro and macro retention. This significantly reduces the risk of premature debonding during treatment. There is an optimal bond of the bracket to the adhesive and tooth.

Optimal designThe base of the equilibrium® 2 bracket has been adapted and optimized to match the 3D shape and anatomical contour of each tooth. The low in / out values produced by the one-piece design enable ideal force application close to the crown of the tooth.

Patented laser structured base ensures an ideal bond The base is not retained with an additional, soldered mesh pad, but instead by a single-piece laser structure that is a patent of Dentaurum. This laser structure has a uniform distribution of micro and macro retention which creates an ideal bond for each bracket. There are no other alloys or solder used during production of Dentaurum brackets.

Outstanding bracket design guarantees easy handling The design of equilibrium® 2 features large tie wing undercuts on the bracket which enable the use of multiple ligatures. The mesial and distal ends of the bracket have been designed to make it even easier to grip and place the brackets. Clear laser marking and FDI notation on the base help to identify the correct bracket for each tooth.

Low friction valuesThe special surface conditioning of equilibrium® ti guarantees an effective treatment procedure with minimal friction. The friction values are even better when used in combination with nickel-titanium archwires. The characteristics and design of the equilibrium® ti brackets correspond to those of the proven equilibrium® 2 standard brackets.

Laser marking ensures easy identification All brackets are laser marked according the specific tooth for easy application. FDI notation on the bracket base further aids in identification. The design of the rhomboid base with additional midline marking facilitates placement on the clinical crown.
