Getting world-renowned speakers to the North East of Scotland is challenging, so persuading Ashok Sethi to come to Aberdeen is a real coup. Ashok along with Terry, Vikram, Will and Steve will bring varying perspectives of dental care which can be shared with colleagues in the north-east of Scotland.

This event is here to showcase dentistry as it should be. There will be a trade show running along side the speakers, marketing seminars will be conducted for DCPs at the same time. For the very first time the north-east of Scotland is going to be home to an event that would grace any major city in the world. We are looking forward to welcoming you at this event which is going to be held under the auspices of Dentsply Sirona and Wright-Cottrell trading groups.

Dr Vikram KaviBDS MFDS RCSEdSince qualifying in 2003, Vikram has strived hard to achieve the highest standards of patient care. He has worked in various hospitals throughout the UK, gaining invaluable oral surgery and sedation experience. Dr Kavi has undergone implant training with the FGDP and now brings this experience to North East Scotland. Dr Kavi is very experienced in placing and restoring many different cases of implants from single tooth to high aesthetic full arch cases daily. Here at Crown Dental Group we have completed numerous full arch cases in the past year and over five hundred single unit implants. He is very experienced with all major implant systems but is keen on using the Ankylos system.

Dr Ashok SethiBDS DGDP(UK) MGDSRCS (Eng) DUI (Lille) FFGDP (UK)Ashok Sethi has a worldwide reputation in the dental profession for the elegance and predictability of his work. He has pioneered and refined both surgical and prosthodontic implant dentistry techniques since 1979. Dr Sethi has organised and taught on postgraduate courses, accrediting dentists in implant dentistry in the UK and Europe. He is Programme Director of the Diploma in Implant Dentistry at the Royal College of Surgeons. Ashok is frequently invited to speak at clinical meetings around the globe and has published numerous articles on advanced implant dentistry in professional and scientific journals. Most recently he has written a book called ‘Practical Implant Dentistry’ published by Quintessence Publishing Company Limited. Ashok qualified from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne in 1974. The Royal College of Surgeons awarded him the DGDP by election, the MGDS by examination, and the FFGDP by assessment. He is a Fellow and Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and has a Diploma in Advanced Implantology from the University of Lille, where he was a member of the Faculty for ten years.

Alexandra Finney Practice Development Manager, Dentsply SironaAlexandra has been active in the Dental profession for over 27 years. She has been working with Dentsply Sirona for 6 years. With an active interest in marketing, she has transitioned from dental sales to practice development over the last year helping dentists increase patient flow. She lives in Dorset; enjoys spending time with her daughter, 3 dogs and doing lots of yoga!

Will Anderson Specialty Registrar Restorative Dentistry BSc BDS MFDS RCSEd Will qualified in Aberdeen in 2012, before working in an Aberdeen city centre practice for a period following this. 2 years of Dental Core training followed in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery and Restorative Dentistry, during which Will obtained his MFDS diploma from the Royal College in Edinburgh. Since 2015, Will has been undergoing specialist training to become a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry. He is based at both Aberdeen and Dundee Dental hospitals. He has a special interest in Periodontology and attends regular conferences and training courses in order to further knowledge on this topic. Will is a member of the British society of Periodontology, the ITI and SRRDG.

Mr Terry Lowe BDS FDSRCPS MBChB FRCS FRCS (OMFS)Mr Terry Lowe qualified from the University of Sheffield in Dentistry (1983) and then Medicine (1995). He completed postgraduate training in General surgery , leading to FRCS and then Higher surgical training in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at Canniesburn Hospital in the West of Scotland. Since 2003 Terry has worked within Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and at the Albyn Hospital as a Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery with special interest in Head and Neck / Reconstructive surgery. He is pleased to take on referrals at Crown Dental surgery for all Minor oral surgery procedures under local anaesthesia including impacted third molar removal, cyst enucleation, surgical removal of complex buried roots, sinus grafting, pre-implant surgery and soft tissue procedures. Dr Steve Martin BDS MSC(ENDO) MJDF RCS (ENG) PG DIP (PRIMARY DENTAL CARE)Stephen qualified from the University of Dundee in 2000. Since then he has gained experience working in both a hospital and practice setting.Stephen has undertaken a variety of postgraduate education, including the Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties qualification and a Postgraduate Diploma in Primary Dental Care at the University of Edinburgh. Since then he has concentrated on Endodontics, completing a Higher Training in Endodontics course at the University of Newcastle and becoming a Dentpsly Sirona Endodontic Trainer. He has completed a Master’s Degree in Endodontology at the University of Central Lancashire. Stephen accepts endodontic referrals in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
