Cosmetic Jar - Specifications

DIBBIOPACK _ Open Event 24th February 7

- Compostable and biodegradable improved PLA for IM- Final use: Cosmetic cream- Closure: Fit- Special features:

o apart from biodegradability of the product: biodegradable label placed usingIML on the inner side of cap and jar and/or outer side of jar (transparent)

o Can be manufactured using chemical foaming or not, reducing its weightdepending of the needs

Cosmetic Jar – Functionalities and improvements

DIBBIOPACK _ Open Event 24th February 8

- The material is mechanically improved and at room temperature it remainsstable.

- The material opacity can be customised.- Possibility of external label using In Mould Labelling process aiming information

or decoration- Possibility of internal label using In Mould Labelling process, separating the

content from the material with nanoadditives and avoiding the contact withnanoparticles and/or adding antimicrobial

- An internal label can be placed also on the cap, offering the opportunity ofadding a RFID device for traceability.

- It has an easy friction fit with a small clip at theend of the joint, avoiding leakage but alsoreducing complexity on the manufacturing mould(The mould cost affects directly to the part price)

- The jar can have the possibility to be ligher due tofoaming process

- The design is improved to be stackable (bothparts, jar and cap)

Pharmaceutical Bottle - Specifications

DIBBIOPACK _ Open Event 24th February 9

- Material: Compostable and biodegradable improved PLA for EBM- Final use: pills or syrup (TBD)- Closure: screwed cap and bottle

Special features:• Apart biodegradability of the product: biodegradable label placed IML onthe outer side.• To ensure sealability, an oxygen scavenger seal on the inner side of caphas been added

Pharmaceutical Bottle - Functionalities

DIBBIOPACK _ Open Event 24th February 10

- Reduced weight and improved mechanical properties and stable at roomtemperature.

- The material is not translucent in order to reduce the light to affect contentproperties, but can be translucent and/or coloured..

- Possibility of external biodegradable label using In Mould Labelling processaiming information or decoration, as well as the possibility to add a RFIDantenna for traceability.

- The cap contents oxygen scavenger seal on the inner side with the aim ofensuring sealability.

Food Tray - Specifications

DIBBIOPACK _ Open Event 24th February 11

Manufactured by injection moulding, making this tray heavier (more wall thickness) than thestandard, but also stronger, resistant and with a high barrier against gases.- Material: Compostable and biodegradable improved PLA for IM- Final use: prepared food (poultry burguer meat)- Closure: Barrier Film- Special features:

- Labels on the inside of the tray have antimicrobial properties- Closure PLA-based film has superb barrier properties, having three coatings (organic-

inorganic-organic) on the outside and an not 100% biodegradable but very thin coatingto allow the film adhesion to the tray

- RFID Oxygen sensor that turns blue when content of oxygen on the inside is higherthan 2%

Food Tray - Functionalities

DIBBIOPACK _ Open Event 24th February 12

- This particular geometry and final performance can offer more than one use forthe tray.

- The material is mechanically improved and at room temperature it remainsstable.

- The material is translucent, but can be opaque and/or colored

- It has an internal label using In Mould Labelling process, separating the contentfrom the material with nanoadditives and avoiding the contact with nanoparticlesand/or adding antimicrobial

Food Tray - Functionalities

DIBBIOPACK _ Open Event 24th February 13

- The film lid has improved barrier properties against oxygen and water vapour, increasing the shelf life of the goods packed on the tray.

- The oxygen sensor will provide information to the final user about the conditionof the content. In a controlled atmosphere, where the oxygen content should bebelow 2%, the end user can check easily if the content is in good or badcondition just with a visual check.

- The RFID tag communicates with an external device, storing information aboutthe status of the package and any other data we want to transfer, improving thetraceability of the package.
