DemolisherWe selected this artist because he is the embodiment of a blank canvas whereby we can collectively create an image specifically for his first professional quality video. We also liked the idea of being able to work with fresh, raw UK produced talent and in our video we plan to celebrate this by using iconic London landmarks and locations. The artist was open to our ideas and anticipated working on his first official video. He had a range of songs recorded however we settled for ‘Last Hope’ because as soon as we heard It we had loads of creative potential concepts buzzing through our minds.

In the background we can see gym lockers with reflecting lights, this symbolizes the shedding of light onto physical struggles.

The artist appears in the middle with his hands together looking serious and solemn. This suggests that his struggles are genuine and that he has had to overcome them to be successful today

We know that he is successful because of his costume, he is wearing a diamond chain with designer trainers and baseball jacket. The descending light reflection represents the idea of a light being at the end of every tunnel.

His name appears quite small on the bottom right hand corner with devil horns appearing on top of the ‘O’ and a halo on the top of the ‘E’ suggesting that struggles about what is good and what is bad and the conscience as an inner driving force influences his decisions.

The colors used on the cover are red and black. These colors give a feeling of warmth to a rap album, which conventionally isn’t perceived as warm and welcoming, therefore entices the listener. The cover gives the impression that the album is less about the success, money and fame and more about realizing the struggles you have to face in order to get the desired end result.

Eminem

Black, White and grey color scheme to represent the ‘dark’ background many hip-hop and rap artists emerge from.

The chain in the front cover is very symbolic. It suggests that he is tied to the struggle and cannot break free from it.

The artist appears solemn and vulnerable, perhaps this could be because of societies expectations.

Being tied to a railing could also symbolise his restrictions in the rap and hip hop industry as a white male rapper.

Lack of color may represent the idea that people from harsh backgrounds have nothing to look forward to. The background looks like a run down new york suburbs. Suggesting that he could be a ‘tied’ to this crime ridden community.
