DCMA Tripwire Metrics
15 ©2012 Deltek, Inc. All Rights Reserved
Tripwire Data CumActualCompl, CurPlannedStarts, Critical Path Length, Number of days of float, etc. They are the values used in Tripwire Metrics They are stored in the database
Most in the BEI table
Top level data is also stored in the CPR Header spreadsheet in wInsight Administrator
Can be displayed in wInsight Sort window
Tripwire Metrics Baseline Execution Index (BEI), Monthly % Hit, and Critical Path Length Index (CPLI) They are calculations/formulas They are not stored in the database They are calculated at the time a chart or a report is displayed BEIs can be displayed in wInsight Sort window
Availability BEI, Monthly % Hit, and related data at all levels CPLI and related data only at level 1/total contract
DCMA Schedule Tripwire Data and Metrics

In determining Tripwire Data totals, wInsight ignores the following schedule items:
All zero (0) duration tasks, even those that are not marked as milestones
Milestones Summary tasks LOE tasks (level-of-effort tasks) Tasks without a baseline Tasks that are not mapped to WBS (i.e., no WBS# in LinkVal field in
C/S Glue Viewer)
DCMA Schedule Tripwire Data Criteria

In calculating BEI data It does not matter if tasks finish on or ahead of their baseline schedule If a task has finished (early, on time, or late), wInsight counts it
BEI can be > 1.0
Baseline Execution Index (BEI) Defined
# of Baseline Tasks Actually Finished
# of Baseline Tasks Scheduled to be Finished BEI =
18 ©2012 Deltek, Inc. All Rights Reserved
More stringent criteria than for the BEI
Monthly % Hit cannot be > 1.0
Monthly % Hit Defined
Monthly
% Hit =
# of THIS month’s tasks finished on or ahead of their baseline schedule
# of THIS month’s tasks to be finished in the baseline schedule

Schedule Float – the difference between the amount of time available for performing a program or a milestone and the time required to complete the program or milestone
wInsight always assumes a 5-day work week in calculating CPLI
CPLI of less than 1.00 indicates that the program is not likely to achieve its baseline completion date without corrective action
Critical Path Length Index (CPLI) Defined
CPLI =Critical Path Duration + Float
Critical Path Duration
20 ©2012 Deltek, Inc. All Rights Reserved
Indicates whether the program is going well or poorly against baseline estimates

If the ProgramOrMilestone column is NULL, or says "Total Program" or "Milestone,“ report does not display a record
Otherwise The milestone name, critical path length, and schedule float for the
report come from the corresponding columns in the CPR Header The UID, Start, and End dates come from imported schedule data for
the milestone
