"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not
proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily
angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but
rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes,
always perseveres. Love never fails." St. Paul, I Corinthians 13:4-8.
I always think of these verses at Valentine's Day. There are so many
kinds of love to celebrate: love between spouses, love between friends,
love between parent and child, love between God and humankind, and
more. And don't you think these verses describe exemplary educators?
We love our students, go above and beyond to help them, and often put
them ahead of ourselves. I am honored and happy to be surrounded by a
group of women who put theses verses into action in many arenas of
their lives. Happy Valentine's Day to you, my dear Zeta sisters!
The year is rushing by. Dr. Jensi Souder would like to know ASAP if you
want to volunteer at International in July. (See the February edition of Xi
State News, p. 3.) Several Zeta sisters are going. I know for sure of
these: Kaye, Sherry, Connie, Martha, Judy, Terry, Wynona, Myra. If you
are planning to go, be sure to get in touch with one of them. Also, regis-
tration has opened for Xi State, which will be June 2-4. I hope that many
of us will be able to go. We always have fun being together.
Congratulations to Zeta! We have earned enough points on the Maycie
Award for Chapter Excellence to be recognized with the Gold Award -
and the application isn't even due until April! Many thanks to those who
have done so many things to help us get to this level. I appreciate all
of you so much. Tricia

pay for the meal. Due to a tight
budget, we need to pay for missed
meals within a week of missing a
meeting.
Members please return the callers'
calls, even if you are not making a reservation. A returned call lets the
caller know that the message was re-
ceived.

WANTED: PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS Zeta needs new members. Think of a woman educa-
tor who would make a good addition to our group
and contact her. You might invite her to visit us at
the February meeting to explore potential member-
ship. Please bring the names of potential members to Kaye at the February meeting. We will need to vote on
new members in March since initiation is in April.
(The application for membership form is found on
Zeta's website : http:/[email protected]/ ) Remember: Zeta's successes are the result of active membership and teamwork. Our chapter will be only as strong as we make it. New members bring enthusiasm, talents, and new interests to our group.
