 TT# 523354 //HP CASE: 4705829455-471, IP: 2135607, Dell PE 2950, ST: 21CQQH1 1. Log in to the DRAC, console, PERC controller utility 2. Have Physical Disk 00:01 replaced 3. Drive 00:00 will likely still be in Foreign state on PD Mgmt tab 4. A new tab named Foreign View (or something similar) will appear 5. Navigate to Foreign View, highlight Controller 0, press F2 for options,  and Import the Foreign Configuration 6. Once complete, navigate back to VD Mgmt tab, and ensure that Virtual Disk  0 reappears. Physical Disk 00:01 should be rebuilding. 7. Finally, navigate to Ctrl Mgmt tab, and ensure that VD 0 69376 MB is se lected under Select bootable VD 8. Restart the server, the OS should come up! 9. Once the rebuild of Disk 00:01 is complete, check to see if Disk 00:00 is in predictive failure. If so, schedule the replacement for tonight s maintenanc e window. From your the provided screen shot, try the following; BTW, you still have not t ell us the reason why the disk suddenly goes Foreign / Rebuild State. Keep in mind that this step might incur data loss and performing this step you a lso understand the implication of data loss and server rebuild / restore can als o be your least option. Issue: Some configured disks have been removed from your system, or are no longe r accessible. Check your cables and ensure all disks are present. Press any key or 'C' to load the configuration utility. Possible Resolution: The message indicates that some configured disks were remov ed. If the disks were not removed, they are no longer accessible. The SAS cables  for your system might be improperly connected. Check the cable connections and fix any problems. Restart the system. If there are no cable problems, press any key or <C> to continue. Turn on the system and enter the CTRL+R utility and impo rt the foreign configuration. Press <"F"> at the prompt to import the configurat ion, or press <"C"> to enter the BIOS configuration utility and either import or  clear the foreign configuration. If the virtual disk is redundant and transitio ned to Degraded state before going Offline, a rebuild operation starts automatic ally after the configuration is imported. If the virtual disk has gone directly to the Offline state due to a cable pull or power loss situation, the virtual di sk is imported in its Optimal state without a rebuild occurring You can use the BIOS Configuration Utility or Dell OpenManage storage management application to perform a manual rebuild of multiple physical disks.
