Although traditional wireless technologies offer a way to establish and maintain basic communications in support of command, control, and field activities, the majority of wireless communications solutions take days to deploy and lack a portable, integrated wireless broadband network infrastructure. These obstacles make it difficult to quickly and securely establish reliable communications links, and create limits where coverage can be offered.

By enabling anytime, anywhere delivery of real-time information and intelligence, LGS Innovations gives its customers an information advantage for mission and operational success. Our innovative develop-ment of powerful mobile solutions provides the con-vergence of secure voice, video, and data through one easy-to-deploy broadband solution.Leveraging Broadband LTE for Wireless Deployment

There is an increasing need for our customers to establish bandwidth-intensive communications applications in some of the most remote and de-manding environments around the world. The ability to rapidly, reliably, and securely access operational information provides a vital link to personnel during

tactical engagements and in emergency response situations. Today’s remote operations also require more than just basic voice service in order to ensure safety, efficiency, and the effective use of resources – video and advanced data applications are also used for remote monitoring, surveillance, and analysis.

The Rapidly Deployable Network (RDN) from LGS In-novations has the potential to revolutionize mission critical tactical communications. Currently in devel-opment, the RDN is a compact and self-contained 4G network-in-a-box and is approximately the size of a shoebox, weighing approximately 22 pounds. The RDN is a rugged portable solution that can operate completely autonomously or work with other RDNs to automatically form a larger network cloud. Easily integrated with other existing IP networks, the RDN enables mobile ad-hoc broadband applications at network speeds up to 50 megabits per second to support communications and connectivity in the most critical situations. Mobile units can create a trusted network for secure, real-time mission-critical voice, video, data, and sensor communications, delivering greater coverage and much greater band-width than 3G wireless network solutions.

Commercial gsM Functionality with the lgs Deployable Cellular network (DCn)When working with a mobile communications network or in a remote location, the need may arise to leverage commercially available mobile phones and other data devices in areas where commercial mobile coverage is not available. These situations call for a communications networking solution that is easy to set up and easy to operate.

The Deployable Cellular Network (DCN) from LGS Innovations meets this need by providing a single-box GSM cellular solution. It encapsulates complete cellular network functions in the smallest form factor in the industry (weighing as little as 5 lbs).

Like the RDN, the DCN has the ability to connect multiple DCNs in a simple, easy to deploy and manage, flat IP-architecture. When these networks are interconnected they provide “cellular-over-IP” functionality and backhaul in areas without existing network coverage. Because the network created by the DCN leverages standard wireless technology, users are able to use commercial GSM data and voice devices.

Custom 2g – 4g solutionsLGS Innovations also designs custom solutions for mission critical and tactical communications challenges throughout the Federal Government, State and Local, and First Responder communities. These include multi-protocol (2G-4G), multi-band, Software Defined Radios (SDRs)s and related RF front-end elements such as amplifiers and filters. Custom communications solutions from LGS Innovations feature market-lead-ing size, weight, and power (SWaP) to meet demanding operational limitations.

To leverage these capabilities, LGS works closely with our customers to identify their mission critical require-ments and custom design end-user solutions that address even the most challenging operational impera-tives. Our Custom R&D team possesses all the requisite skills to take a customer requirement from concept through hardware and software design and development, proof of concept, and productization to a final, ruggedized, solution capable of high quantity production. Our Product Solutions team converts R&D inno-vation into production-quality products and systems. The Product Solutions team has 45,000 sq. ft. of avail-able space, tools, and processes to support the full product lifecycle. Our Technical Support Services (TSS) team provides deployable, worldwide support for LGS solutions and is staffed by technical staff with years of experience in the same operational environments and locations as our principal customers. Together, these teams ensure full cradle-to-the-field solution support.

Mission Critical Communications: applied innovationLGS provides professional services for the entire enterprise network lifecycle, from planning and design to inte-gration, operations, and optimization. With a mature catalog of consulting and professional services, multi-ven-dor technical solutions, and operational tools, LGS tailors solutions to the mission needs of each of its customers, improving operations by transforming the ability to quickly, securely, and efficiently send and receive informa-tion of all kinds – anywhere, anytime, on any device.

green solutionsMinimizing network energy dependence not only reduces an organization’s environmental footprint, but can save operating costs and help meet energy efficiency initiatives. Energy usage is not only expensive, but can also be hard to come by, particularly when missions and operations take place in rural and undeveloped areas.

LGS Innovations’ energy-efficient networking solutions provide a proactive approach to network power man-agement by enabling customers to reduce energy costs, meet environmental and corporate responsibility objectives, and satisfy reliability requirements. We assess and audit network power strategies and identify areas for efficiency gains, including renewable solar, wind, and fuel cell energy opportunities. Solutions consist of cus-tomizable, power-related services focused on enhancing operators’ power systems, preventing power failures, realizing efficiencies, and carrying out environmentally-friendly equipment retirement and recycling activities.
