Del Mar Race of the Day Analysis optixeq.com The feature stakes race on the Friday card is the Solana Beach run at one mile over the turf course. There are a couple pace scenarios that can favor the pair close up to the lead, or the trio of squares from othe pace. Starting with #7 PRINCESS ROI (8-1) and #9 CORDIALITY (5-2) they are the biggest threat of those that will be forwardly placed. PRINCESS ROI has the advantage of being the lone Square in Quad 1; she has early speed likely to make the lead and has some late kick. She is making her second start of the meet and capable to improve oof the last race. #9 CORDIALITY has some class (running in tougher races) and also good tactical speed, displayed by her position highest up in Quad 1. Considering the speed rating is not too high #5 HOW ABOUT ZERO (8-1) can be considered. She is coming oof a layoand an excusable eort in her last race, which is taken into account in the PLOT. Since there is some contention the horses from othe pace, especially the Squares must be paid attention to if the race falls apart late. #2 HOW UNUSUAL (12-1) and #4 LYNNE’S LEGACY (6-1) both ran in this race last year finishing underneath the top pair when the race was just slightly longer. Both have some things to like in here and could be used at a price. #5 CHEEKABOO (8-1) finished a fast closing third in her most recent race and start over the Del Mar turf. Like the others in Quad 4, she needs pace to make her late run, and to have her best chance to win. Quad Stats ANALYSIS by Emily Gullikson

Del Mar Race of the Day Analysis optixeq.com

The feature stakes race on the Friday card is the Solana Beach run at one mile over the turf course. There are a couple pace scenarios that can favor the pair close up to the lead, or the trio of squares from off the pace.

She is making her second start of the meet and capable to improve off of the last race. #9 CORDIALITY has some class (running in tougher races) and also good tactical speed, displayed by her position highest up in Quad 1. Considering the speed rating is not too high #5 HOW ABOUT ZERO (8-1) can be considered. She is coming off of a layoff and an excusable effort in her last race, which is taken into account in the PLOT.

Since there is some contention the horses from off the pace, especially the Squares must be paid attention to if the race falls apart late.

QUICK TIPS

• OptixPLOT is a graphical representation of the anticipated pace of the race (i.e., race shape).

• The most reliable/interpretable races have a GREEN PlotFit.

• Individual horses are represented either by SQUARES (strong finishing ability) or CIRCLES (less-than-average finishing ability).

• QUADRANT 1 (early pace) horses win the highest percentage of races.

• SQUARES (late-pace horses) win nearly 2x more than CIRCLES. The larger the SQUARE, the stronger the finishing ability of the horse.

• CIRCLES in QUADRANTS 3 & 4 have a very low win-percentage. Large CIRCLES indicate horses with weak finishing ability.

• An OptixPLOT with a High Contention (flame) and a SpeedRate >= 40 typically favors SQUARES in QUADRANTS 2 & 4.

• An OptixPLOT with a Low Contention (snowflake) and a SpeedRate <= 15 typically favors QUADRANT 1 horses.
