QUESTION 1: Why are you on Instagram? If you dig deepbeyond ‘to have influence’, ‘because I shouldbe, right?’ or ‘to make money.’ What is yourdeep down reason? What is your relationship with Instagram, orwhat do you want it to be? This isn’t aboutwhat you portray as much as a personalaspect of social media to define withyourself.

(To help you answer, think about: What isyour goal in posting? Can you identify aproblem, situation, or mindset that youraccount is geared towards helping improve? How can the content you plan on sharingserve people in some way?) Think about: >How often do you want to be creatingcontent and posting? >What times of day are you happy to createcontent and post? >How much time you’re able/prepared to giveto content creating? >What time do you have to give to buildingrelationships and engaging on the app? >What parts of your life/business do you wantto share and able to share.

What is the key story you want totell the scroller through yourposts? What are the areas of your life, business or brand that you want tobe posting about that feed into thisoverall story? (Depending on howspecific you get and how well theyrelate, I ’d say up to 10!)

Part 1 : Look at your feed and identify 3 things you need to do to move towards accurately

portraying your storyline? It might be increasing one kind of content , getting rid of a particular

style of post , telling a certain aspect better with your captions , finding consistency in style , or

creating pictures that represent your story in a more accurate way .

Part 2 : Once you ’ve identified those things , very practically identify what it ’s going to take to

make those steps happen . For example , if you need to increase a certain aspect of your

content , what is it going to take to create that content?

When you look at your last 12 posts, what story do they tell? Do theyaccurately represent the story youwant to tell? Are they a good pagefor people to land on to learn aboutyou?

FINDINGBALANCELook back over your recent 20-30 posts.  What arethe posts that get the most engagement? Whatsegment of your life are they about? Or can youidentify what about them made them do well?(Something in the caption? Subject matter?Aesthetic?) As you look over the content that people respondthe most to, is there anything you notice?  Think about: >Is it different from what you expected? >What does it make you think? >Would it fit your story to post more of thatcontent? >Is there any way you can serve your followingwithin that type of content? >Is there a product or service you canadvertise/create/give that would be a goodresponse to their engagement with that aspect ofyour content? )

FOCUSDo you know the needs of your audience? What are they? Think about: >What are the questions you get askedregularly? >What pieces of your story seem to resonatemost? >What do you post about that people getexcited and vocal about? Are there any brands that fit within your lastanswer that have referral programs, affiliateprograms or that you could approach for acollaboration? I.e. is there any way you can monetize whatyou’re already posting about withoutchanging anything!

QUESTIONSTO ASKBEFORE ACOLLABWill it add value to the people’s lives whofollow me? Do I use it + love it? (or would I personallybuy it and use it) i.e. does it fit into the storyof our lives that we share? Have I tested it out? I.e. Can I genuinely talkabout it from experience in a way that willbuild trust, and add true value. Does it fit within the pieces of life I share oninstagram? Is there a way I can shoot it and post about itthat will work well on my instagram tobenefit both the brand and my audience? Is it something I would talk about for free? Ifit isn’t, my values are being bought, andultimately that won’t sell well!
