TEQIP The World Bank supported Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP) is a long term programme, being implemented in three phases for a systemic transformation of the Technical Education System in India.

In its second phase (TEQIP-II), around 200 engineering institutions spread across India have been competitively selected to implement the project enabling the institutions to improve the quality of Technical education through institutional reforms.

Objective of TEQIP II:

To Strengthen the Institutions to improve Learning

Outcomes and employability of Graduates.

About the Department The Department of Mechanical Engineering functions with the prime goal of imparting sound and proper mix of theory and practical courses in the fundamentals and recent technological developments of mechanical engineering and allied disciplines to the students so that the students, on completion of the course, get good opportunities in industries and higher education. The other objectives of the department are: promotion of research and development activities, providing consultancy services to the Industries and conducting continuing education programs. About the FDP Nanofluid consists of a base fluid containing colloidal suspension of nanoparticle. Nanofluids have a substantially larger thermal conductivity compared to that of the common base fluids and can be considered to be the next generation heat transfer fluids. Nano Fluids are widely used in many research areas are heat exchangers, power generations, solar water heaters, automobile transmission and cooling, electronic cooling, tribology, heating and cooling systems, etc. Thermal conductivity studies have been the focus of nanofluid research so far, but ultimately, their flow and heat transfer characteristics in real, practical applications will determine their usefulness as advanced heat-transfer fluids. Many critical phenomena have not yet been investigated, and related underlying physical phenomena are yet to be fully understood.

The objective of the FDP is to impart knowledge on basics and applications of nanofluids and to explore the various research avenues in the field of nanofluid heat transfer.
