Hello Trojans!!

Welcome to the December Newsletter!!

Sarina our Division News Editor has worked so hard each month

to publish the Newsletter and it's amazing the quality of each issue. So

Trojans, the next time you see Sarina in an event please thank her and

give her a big hug as she takes a lot of her time to make this amazing

magazine

On another note…

Remember Trojans the holiday season is starting so it's a great

time to serve your community! Seniors, be proud of yourselves as the

worst of the college application season is done. Finally Dues!! They

need to be at our International Office by December 1st. Make

District Treasurer Darin Ngo happy by getting them submitted on

time! It's only $11.50 to become an official member of Key Club

International

Your Lieutenant Governor,

Alex Tellez

Hey Trojans!

The semester is almost over and the holidays are near which

means more time for community service! I hope you all have a great

thanksgiving break and take the time to catch up on all your school

work, spend time with your friends and families, and commit some of

your free time in assisting others in your community. Make sure to

study for all of your first semester finals and good luck to all of you!

And remember to submit all photos and articles to me every

month on the 10th. It is highly crucial to submit them into me, and

you’ll also receive more Trojan points for pizza! So please be sure to

send them to me at: [email protected]. Also remember to

follow our Instagram account @d05s_trojans for updates and current

events.

Your Division News Editor,

Sarina Sylavong

2 Cities Marathon On November 2, a brisk Sunday

morning, Key club volunteers headed

over to Woodward Park to help at the

annual 2 Cities Marathon. This event is

a race for people of all ages, and is so

important that some roads in the city

are blocked for the competitors.

Despite the hour change in the day,

helpers from both Division 05 South and

North arrived at the streets by 5:30.

Volunteers were sent to stations, where

their jobs consisted of handing out

water, energy drinks, and energy gel to

the passing athletes. Key clubbers

didn’t just give out edible energy;

shouts and yells of encouragement

were proclaimed as well. Volunteers

were also treated to complementary

doughnuts and fruits throughout the

day. From the very first competitor to

the very last stroller, the community

service was a great run.

November DCM The DCM on Wednesday the 14th was a great turn out! It was my

first time going to Reedley High School for a DCM since it’s so far away

from where I live. I thought it would be nice to attend since they always

drive out to Fresno for our DCM’s and little meetings. I got to meet a lot

of new people there, most were from Reedley. At our DCM, we had

delicious pizza and cookies provided to us by Gina, their amazing, sweet

advisor. We discussed new topics like the Pasadena Rose Bowl, District

convention, and CTC. We then gave out awards to advisors, clubs, and

members. After the DCM, everyone got together to wrap gifts that

would be sent overseas to kids that needed it most. Inside the wrapped

boxes were toys and school supplies along with letters to them that

would make each kid happy. Regardless of the fact that we didn’t get

home until 10 on a school night, the DCM was really fun and lively. I

can’t wait for our next one!
