SCAM AWARENESS Please be extra careful at this time of year, especially as we are all looking for the ‘Black Friday’ saving. This is the time that the scammers know we are after a bargain and are at their most vigilant to catch us out. Remember:- IF IT SEEMS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT PROBABLY IS! Good luck and enjoy your Christmas purchasing experiences.

GIFT AID * As was discussed earlier in the year, the Committee suggested raising funds by claiming Gift Aid from HMRC on the annual subscriptions and weekly attendance fees of the local membership of Caer Urfa U3A. If you currently pay tax on your income then you are able to complete a Gift Aid Declaration which allows charities to claim back 25 pence for every £1 you give. It will not cost you any extra. Please find attached a Gift Aid Declaration for you to complete. If you pay income tax and are willing to complete the declaration, please bring this along to the meeting in January when you pay your membership fees. The Membership Secretary and others will be there to assist and accept your fees and declarations. Many thanks for your assistance in this matter. * Please see Appendix 1 – Gift Aid Declaration NEXT MEETING 2nd January 2020 TOPIC Membership Renewals, Gift Aid & Social Please make all membership renewal cheques payable to:- Caer Urfa South Shields U3A
