Your Help Is Needed
at My Brother’s
Keeper
My Brother’s Keepers held
their annual fundraiser, The
Crystal Ball in 2018 hoping to
raise funds to restore the
flooring in the kitchen, dining
room, and Veteran’s
area. They did raise enough to
purchase the flooring materials
but did not have enough for
the installation. So now they
are asking for any volunteers
to help improve the living
condition of our homeless men
and Veterans with a nice place
to find refuge. Thankfully, a
group have committed to
installing the main kitchen and
dining room. There is much
more that needs to be done.
There are 10 bedrooms, two
kitchens and the TV room on
the Veteran’s floor that still
needs to be installed. Would
you be willing to commit to
one or two rooms to install this
flooring?
The tile is a 12”x12”
commercial vinyl flooring.
If you are not able to help,
maybe you know of friends
with this skill set that may
want to help. If you do, please
call Debra Hayes, Executive
Director at My Brother’s
Keepers, 810-234-1163 or at
debrahayes1@[email protected]
Together we can make life a
little easier and nicer for our
homeless men and homeless
Veterans in Genesee
County. Please consider
helping.

Thinking
Christmas? Think
Cyberlink
Cyberlink Computing has a few
reminders for all of their fellow
chamber members:
1.) As Black Friday, Cyber
Monday, and Christmas
shopping approaches, if you
shop online, buy only on secure
sites. This is usually noted by a
Lock Icon in the address
bar. Use a separate credit or
debit card that is not used for
every day purchases. Keep a list
of online purchases to be able
to detect fraud should a site or
card become hacked. Storing
bank or credit card information
within the browser makes
it much easier to be
compromised. Finally, make
sure that whatever device you
are shopping with (PC, Tablet,
or Phone) has an antivirus on it.
For questions about “Do’s and
Don’ts”, give them a call.
2.) Windows 7 is coming up on
“End of Support” January 14th.
For businesses, there will be no
security updates, or support
from Microsoft should
problems occur. Move to the
most recent Windows 10
version. As Windows 7
machines started coming out in
October of 2009, many of them
have been out for almost a
decade. Some are worth
upgrading and some not based
on what hardware components
they have. It may be a better
decision to put a new computer
on your Holiday wish list. In
any case Cyberlink will look at
your system and give you a free
assessment and help upgrade or
get you into a new one.
The pros at Cyberlink are here
in Grand Blanc at 3059 Tri Park
Drive and can be reached at 810
-250-7553. Happy Holidays!
Real Vinyl Repairs
Not Duct Tape
Bruce Merkel has opened a
Fibrenew franchise in the
Grand Blanc area. Fibrenew
has been in existence since
1985 and has more than 250
locations in North America.
Fibrenew provides a mobile
service that repairs and
restores vinyl, leather, and
plastic. Bruce spent the last 22
years working in medical
device and pharmaceutical
sales. His position was
eliminated at the beginning of
the year leaving him to pursue
starting his own business.
After employing a franchise
consultant and researching
several opportunities, Bruce
determined that Fibrenew
would be a good fit for him.
He was impressed by
Fibrenew’s training and on-
going technical support as well
as the numerous applications
and markets that he
participates in. Utilizing
exclusive Fibrenew products
and technical training, Bruce
can repair damage to car seats
and interiors, boat vinyl,
medical exam tables,
restaurant seating, vinyl siding
and flooring, and residential
furniture. Bruce works with
local health systems, marinas,
car and RV dealerships,
insurance and real estate
agencies, and homeowners to
perform repairs at a fraction of
the cost to replace. If you
need something repaired, call
this new Chamber member at
810-610-0359 today.

Do I Have Sciatica? The sciatic nerve is made of
several nerves that exit the
spine from the low back and
travel through the buttock and
down the back of the leg to the
foot. Misalignment of the
lumbar spine, pelvis, and/or
sacrum causes sciatic pain,
numbness, or weakness that
begins in the low back or
buttock area and radiates to the
back of the leg on the same
side.
Whether you suffer low back
or buttock pain by itself, or
sciatica, Dr. Cherniawski can
help. A consultation and
examination will determine the
location of the problem and the
best chiropractic adjustments
to realign the lumbar spine,
pelvis, and sacrum. Reducing
irritation to the nerves will
help relieve the pain. – Grand
