Forest Rock Lane Pavement PreservationProject
Forest Rock Lane, an important neighborhood collector inour City Network, was built 20 years ago and is in need of anupgrade. Steepness of the road, subsurface water flow, roadbase, and asphalt thickness have all been contributing factorsto condition of the road. This project will rebuild the roadbase, install trench drains, and thicker asphalt will improvethe road. The road will be upgraded from the Central Marketentrance to Caldart Avenue.
This is the first Full Depth Reclamation type of project for the

City. The existing road and base is pulverized and used tobuild the new road section on top of it. This means theproject reuses material, reduces the work and materialrequired by the contractor, and shortens the duration of theproject. The project will also include drainageenhancements, ADA upgrades, installation of a radar speedsign, and channelization of the road to slow down traffic.
This project will advertise for bids in December, with actualconstruction happening in Late Spring 2019.
