News & Views Merry Christmas my friends,

Aw Christmas time!! I know it seems like it’s just a big ole fuss, with a bunch of running around, crowded shopping centers and malls, and busy roadways. I’m not even going to mention the grocery store! My goodness, seems like some of us have never seen a ham or turkey before. When we finally do reach our destination at Christmas, oh what joy it is. NEW DOE OFFICERS FOR 2016At our meeting on November 11th, nominations were held and an election conducted for our 2016 DOE officers. Congratulations to Billie Schell, who will do us the honor of once again serving as Drove President, and all of her newly elected officers: First Counselor, Bessie Bright; Senior Counselor, Sherby Merchant; Junior Counselor, Sandy Brady; Secretary, Linda Hobbick; Treasurer, Carol Dawson; Conductor, Cate Alexander; Chaplain, Donna Ludolph; Inner/Outer Guard, Meta Robinson; and 3 Year Trustee, Renne Barolet. Margie Mitchell was elected as Alternate Delegate. Appointed officers are as follow: Color Bearers will be Jan Overgaard; Patty Kitlasz; Sheila Kelly; and Barbara Churchill. Attendants will be Edythe Devine; Margie Mitchell; Patricia Davis; and Deb Harris. We are still in need of a Musician to fill our slate of officers for this coming year. If you are a DOE and are interested, please contact Billie Schell at your earliest convenience.

Installation of 2016 officers will be held at our regular DOES meeting on January 27th (weather permitting) at 7:00 PM in the Lodge Room

BARNYARD BINGO On Wednesday, December 16th, at 7:30 PM, (weather permitting) the DOES will be presenting another rowdy night of Barnyard Bingo. Cluck, moo and oink as you win your prize of chicken, pork chops and steak. Plan to have dinner beforehand while resting up for the hour and a half of fun and laughter that will follow. Patty Kitlasz will be back in her role as ‘call girl’; and the special game that evening will be for a pair of CORNISH GAME HENS.

We wish to thank all of you Elks and DOES who have come out this past year and supported Barnyard Bingo. By you doing so, the DOES have been able to fund many of our charitable projects. We hope you have had as much fun playing the games as we have had presenting them to you. We also want to give a special gold star to Elk Brian Jones (and Ingles) for providing us with all of the great chicken, pork, steaks and special meats over the months. Thank you, Brian!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SISTER!

MARK YOUR CALENDARS

In lieu of our only meeting this month, we will be holding our annual DOES Christmas Party on

Wednesday, December, 9TH, at 6:00 PM. All DOES, past, present and future, are invited. We ask that all

attendees bring their favorite holiday dish to share. And yes, husbands and guests are invited as well!! As an added treat that evening we will be holding the ever-

popular ‘Chinese Auction’ (or gift swap), so each of you who would like to participate in this laughter-packed game is asked to bring a wrapped (or bagged) gift to

exchange with a value of not more than $10. We hope to see all of you there for a fun-filled evening!

ELKS CHRISTMAS CHARITIESThis year, in conjunction with the Elks Christmas Charities program, the DOES will once again be purchasing small gifts for the older children (14-18) who do not qualify (age-wise) for the toys the younger children receive as part of the Charities program. If any of you would like to assist us with this project, please contact Patty Kitlasz at 828-808-0416 or Sandy Brady at 828-489-7293.

DOES DUESPlease don’t forget that your DOES dues are due January 1st. Your check for $30.00 can be made payable to BPO DOES No. 258 and mailed to our Drove secretary, Linda Hobbick, 32 Sycamore Circle, Hendersonville, NC 28792.

WE WOULD LIKE TO WISH EACH AND EVERYONE

A WONDERFUL HOLIDAY SEASON--MERRY CHRISTMAS

AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
