Program Highlights

Over 2000 hits on our library video, “What Makes a Library a Library?” on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/user/theunquietlibrary#p/u/4/l9oLj8mcnUQ

Ms. Lester’s students wowed each other and guest visitors with the “presentation zen” style talks on their “Issues in Africa” research.

The library hosted a special offer in which students could reduce their library fines in exchange for canned goods to support the Creekview HS Canned Food Drive.

Ms. Lester’s 9th grade students were introduced to blogging in Wordpress.

Completion of the Georgia Peach Book Award research pathfinder, featuring RSS feeds and widgets for each author’s blog, Twitter account, Facebook pages, book trailers, author interviews, and more at http://theunquietlibrary.libguides.com/peachbooks-readingbowl !

Our library blog received over 8600 hits during the month of December!

I like that I cannot rely on my slides as much. It requires me to actually learn what my project is about and not just copy and paste a whole paragraph into my power point then read it right off the slide when I am presenting. I felt that I was more connected to the class while presenting and I really liked that, it made me feel better about myself while I was actually up in front of the class. 10th grade student

Using the “presentation zen” style, I actually had to understand my findings. Because I couldn’t use bullets in my power point, I was forced to really connect to my research to talk about it during my presentation.
