Volunteers are also needed the week before the party to help Sherron package presents for the families. Please call Dominic's Outreach Center directly at (313) 831-6070 and ask to speak to Sherron in order to set up a volunteer time at the center. Your time and talent is a wonderful gift to the center.

DevelopChristianfriendships.
As we begin Advent, we are called to “wait” in joyful anticipation for the grace of Christmas to once again bless our lives. Within Our Lady of Victory’s parish boundaries there are struggling families. When in need, they ring the
“rectory bell” -- they are, in effect, ringing your doorbell.
Your gifts to OLV’s St. Vincent de Paul Ministry help those in our community who find themselves in need of assistance, such as when a young Navy veteran's family sought our help. He is a full time student pursuing a degree approved and supported by the U. S. Navy. Once he graduates he will return to active duty service. His wife had a serious illness and was off work for several months. Financial issues arose when the family (they have a 10 year old son who loves robotics) incurred unexpected expenses due to his required attendance at Navy training in Texas. This, coupled with the loss of income because of his wife's illness, drove this family to OLV’s SVdP for help. By joining with Northville's Main Street League, the Plymouth Salvation Army and Civic Concern, we were able to help this family avoid eviction from their apartment.
If you are interested in learning more about OLV’s St. Vincent de Paul Conference, please contact us by leaving your name and contact information on the OLV SVdP Hotline at (248) 349-2622 or e-mail to: [email protected] and one of our Vincentians will contact you. Or please join us at our next meeting this Tuesday, December 11, at 7:00 p.m., in the St. John XXIII Room.

Time to bundle up for the cold weather! Perhaps time to unbundle some worries and concerns by sharing them with a Stephen Minister from Our Lady of Victory? Someone, with your interest at heart and wanting to meet with you, is close at hand. There are never any magically
solutions but many times worries and problems are lessened when shared with someone of the same religious beliefs.
To find out more, call the STEPHEN MINISTRY confidential message line at (248) 349-0216 and leave your name and number. A Stephen Minister Leader will return your call.
