Parks Insider March 2016 Lacrosse Lacrosse Leagues (Ages 8 - 14) Decatur and Macon County youth can now play the high-energy, fast-paced sport of lacrosse! Players will practice on Tuesdays for an hour, followed by a 30-minute game. Boys must wear full protective equipment (helmet, shoulder/rib protector, gloves, cup, mouth guard, and elbow guards). Girls must wear a mouth guard and face goggles. Protective equipment and a stick may be rented for an additional $25 ($75 deposit for boys and $25 deposit for girls required). Date: Tuesdays, March 29 - May 10 (May 17 is a rain make-up date if a session is cancelled) Time: 5:30 - 7:15 p.m. Fee: $85 (includes lacrosse jersey) Location: South Shores Park Note: Players need to purchase their own mouth guard. Preschool Activities Storybook Adventure Each week your child will listen to a story then participate in art activities highlighting the book’s characters and events. Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat blends pop, country, and rock into an uplifting, technicolor story of biblical proportions. Two full casts in grades 1 - 12 will perform. The Decatur Park District offers baseball and softball leagues for boys and girls aged 3 - 15 who have experience in the sport and are looking for a more competitive environment to grow into better ball players.

Decatur Youth Baseball is affiliated with Little League and operates under their rules and regulations. The youth softball league is affiliated with Country Girls and operates under their rules and regulations.
