Partner With Youth Annual Giving CampaignFor some children, families and adults, the YMCA is the place they turn to for encouragement and support to accomplish their dreams. You can make a difference byvolunteering for or donating to the Partner With Youth annual campaign. Partner WithYouth is the largest adult program in the YMCA movement. Nearly 80 volunteers worktogether each year to make sure that everyone has an opportunity to participate inYMCA programs and services. In 2008, the DecaturDeKalb YMCA will raise over$195,000 to directly benefit children and families in the Decatur/DeKalb community. Play Center ages 3 months-5 years: • Free babysitting services are available for facility

members only, while working out in the facility. •• Membership I.D. required for children upon

entrance to play center•• See member services if you need an I.D. for

your child(ren)• Designed to serve ages 3 months-5 years, however,

children up to 12 years of age are welcome.• Two hour per day, eight hours per week limit for all

The Play Center reserves the right to limit the numberof children, at any time for safety reasons.

Prime Time After School Care 2008ages 4-12 years: An after school program held on-siteand at the YMCA for the City of Decatur (public andprivate schools). We offer homework time, indoor/out-door games, sports, art, character development andmore! Pre-registration begins Monday, July 28.Participants may pick up a flyer and pre-registrationform at all sites Wednesday, August 6, 2008. Registerfrom 8 am-5 pm. Teens Teens

The teens and staff at the Decatur-DeKalb YMCAare very excited about new creative activities andleadership opportunities for teens just around thecorner. Below you will find a few of the activities wehave planned as well as potential events and programs.

Mission Atlanta: for 7th-12th grade students: It’s aweek of incredible fun and service. Join over 100other teenagers serving lunch and planning activities for kids in under-privileged communities allover Atlanta. Mission Atlanta is an experience thatwill help you realize your leadership gifts in servingothers. Teens stay overnight at the YMCA for daysfilled with service and evenings filled with fellowship.Each evening we will build the strength of our teamthrough excursions all over Atlanta. Two nights willbe spent in leadership development of our team(guest speakers/workshops).Parents are invited atthe end of the week to our banquet on Friday nightto see the success of our week. The banquet is heldat the Alpharetta YMCA Teen Leadership Center. June 1-7 • MEM: $150 PRO: $175

Personal Training

Personal Training ages 13+: An individualized program that is designedto assist you in achieving & maintaininga desired fitness level through strengthtraining, cardiovascular conditioningand weight management. Our trainerswill educate and motivate you whetheryou are beginning an exercise program, breaking through a plateau,defeating boredom in your current routine, or conditioning yourself for acompetitive event. Appointments only. MEM: $45 per hour

Group Personal Training ages 13+:A great way to meet your fitnessgoals...Train with friends! Train in asmall group setting with a personaltrainer. Classes will have a minimum of4 and a maximum of 8 participants.Once group has been established, sessions will run for 6 weeks. MEM: $60 for once per week

$115 for twice per week or $160 for three times per week.

Personal Training programs are ONLY availableto facility members. Sport specific training isavailable. Registration ongoing.

There will be cardiovascular,strength-building, flexibility exercises along with positive self image and basic nutrition in the program. April 28-May 21 No class in the Summer Months

Teen Fit ages 10-15: Teen Fit is an introductory fitnessclub for youths. Strength system and cardiovascularequipment orientation are the main focus of this program. Includes strength & resistance training,cardio equipment and more. Participants may alsoperform exercise drills and conditioning in the pool.A classroom setting will be held several times a session in which participants will learn anatomy, exercise science and fitness terminology. The benefits of Teen Fit are increased muscular strength,increased muscular endurance, prevention of injuryduring sports, improved performance in sports, andmeeting other teens who share the same interest inhealth and fitness. TEEN FIT participants will earnFitPoints for working out. At the end of the 4 weeksession, awards will be given based on amount ofFitPoints earned. Join us for a non-competitive, fundamental Americanpast time... Stay active during the summer monthsand have some FUN with our YMCA t-ball and base-ball league. League takes place at local fields in thearea, just a few miles from YMCA. Volunteer CoachesAlways Needed! Registration: March 31-May 3.

Tiny T-Ball ages 3 & 4 years: Learn the basics ofbaseball. Each team will practice for 30 minutes andthen play a 30-minute game each Saturday. Teamswill learn how to hit and field. Parents are stronglyencouraged to participate with their kids. Saturday Mornings, 9:00 am-12:00 pm MEM: $60 PRO: $75

Rec SoccerRec Soccer ages 3-18

YMCA Recreational Soccer is designed to build elementary and intermediate skills, basic fundamentals, and love of the sport. There are no try-outs for YMCA recreational soccer teams.Registration dates are Saturday, July 12, 19, 26, 2008from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm in the large conferenceroom at the YMCA. Late registration will run Monday,July 28, 2008 through Sunday, August 3, 2008 at theregistration desk during normal business hours. A$15.00 late fee will be assessed to late registrations.Age as of August, 1 2008 will determine age group.

Academy Soccer ages 8-11

Ballroom 1 (Beginners) Our beginner group seriesClass is designed for first time dancers. Worry free -you will be taught everything you need to know! Thebeginner class curriculum includes: Waltz, Foxtrot,Rumba, and Swing. The dance instruction is formatted to progress the students level of dance.Lessons are taught by a DVIDA nationally certifiedinstructor. It is best if you have a partner but not necessary as we rotate partners throughout the class(singles and couples are welcome). Volunteers Wanted! Volunteers are very important to theYMCA and the community it serves. Volunteering not onlymakes the Decatur-DeKalb YMCA a better place, but italso gives you an opportunity to touch a life, to makenew friends, and to personally grow. • Happy Club Chaperone / Driver - Twice a month on weekends we take young adults 16 years and older with disabilities to activities out in the community (Braves game, bowling, movies & dinner, etc.).

• Gymnastics Assistants - Help instructors with children, set up and break down gymnastic equipment.

• Member Greeter - Greet members as they come to workout at the YMCA.

• Sports Coaches - Teaching basic skills for sports recreation programs for ages 3 to 18, such as baseball, soccer, basketball, and flag football.

• Sports Field Monitor - Assist with field lining, field monitor and office administration.

• Refugee Program - Assist with instruction in soccer and swimming to children ages 4-14, or help provide snacks for participants.

• Beep Baseball - Baseball for the seeing, the blind, and visually impaired. We need players who are sighted to be fielders, catchers, pitchers, as well as volunteers to help assist players on and off the field.
