Governor’s Message:

Hello Brothers and Sisters,I hope you and your Families enjoyed a Happy Thanksgiving and are now look-

ing forward to the Holiday Season.I would like to Thank our volunteer “GUEST CHEFS” for providing us with

their signature Friday Night Specials. We look forward to the other Members who haveoffered to step up and provide more Friday Night Dinners. Members please check your e-mail and Facebook for meal choice. Thank you again to our volunteers.

In the short time being Governor I have encountered a number of hurdles. Withthe Board and the Administrator’s help we managed to get over most of these hurdles. Iam positive working together we can overcome any hurdles that may occur in the future.

Looking at the good times…. On October 7th the Men and WOTM took part inthe Riverhead Country fair promoting the Moose Fraternity and offering Free ID FingerPrinting. Our Classic Car club, on October 14th had another great Car show at TanagerMall and donated $2,500.00 to Moose Charities. Our WOTM on October 20th had a verysuccessful “Monster Mash Bash” Dinner Dance. A good time was had by all who attend-ed. The Music was great and Thanks to Chef Randy we enjoyed an amazing Buffet ofdelicious Food.

For the Kid’s Halloween Party on October 28th the dining room was trans-formed into a room filled with outstanding Halloween Blow-ups provided by Kevin Ken-ter and music by DJ Ashley Kenter. And what would a party be without The WOTMwho provided tables filled with crafts and pumpkins for all our Ghost and Goblins. Greatjob Ladies ... could not have done without your help. While the ladies assisted the chil-dren the men prepared the food. Thank you to everyone who helped make this a fun eventfor the Children.

On Nov. 4th the WOTM had yet another successful Yard Sale and Chinese Auc-tion. You Ladies are amazing.

The RMYC on November 10th sponsored the Veteran’s Dinner Dance. Theroom was proudly decorated in Red, White and Blue. Members and Guests brought non-perishable food items to be given to our Veterans and Families. Everyone enjoyed greatfood and music. Thank You.

Veteran’s Day, November 11th we proudly prepared and honored our ”ValuedVeterans” with a Brunch in their Honor. Each of our Veterans was presented with a“Certificate of Appreciation” and a pin by Brother Bill Meyer. Thank you to all the Menand Women of the Armed Services Active and Retired and Those who have gone beforeus.

Our Riverhead Classic Car Club, on Nov. 11th again was present at theBrookhaven Town Food & Toy Drive. Thank you.

November 18th the Women of the Moose sponsored another successful day atthe Moose Races for everyone to enjoy.

Wishing you all a Very Happy & Healthy Holiday Season and travel Grace forall who might be traveling to be with Family and Friends.

From the Membership Committee

Brothers, we are into the second half of our fiscal year and while our retentionefforts, that is Brothers on the phone calling those who are about to expire or whohave recently expired, are at an acceptable 77%; our new member production hasbeen lagging. We were assigned a new member application goal of 146 at the begin-ning of this Governor's year (May 1, 2018). That breaks down to a little over 12 permonth; so, if you do the math, 7 months have passed we should be at 84 signed todate and we have only signed 41 as of November 21, 2018. So, we need another 105by the end of this year April 30,2019.

...21 per month. ...NOT GOOD!!

We are, now, required to hold a total of six (6) new member orientations/enrollment ceremonies each fiscal year. (5/1/2018-4/30/2019.) We have had one atthe District #4 Breakfast on October 14, 2018. The other five (5) will be scheduled asfollows;

(1)Thursday December 13, 2018,

(2) Thursday January 17, 2019

(3)Thursday February 21, 2019

(4)Thursday March 21, 2019,

(5)Thursday April 18, 2019.

They will all be held in the Banquet Room at 6:30 P.M., a short Video called"Moose Proud" will be shown, new member lapel pins will be presented along with aMember Benefits Brochure, Coffee and Cake will be served. Each new Member willreceive an invitation with the schedule for these orientations.

We just had Our second "Valued Veteran's" Brunch on Sunday November 11th,2018, we had a great brunch and we welcomed 5 more "Valued Vets" into the Pro-gram. Each received a framed Certificate and a Lapel Pin. Some great stories abouttheir experiences in the Military were shared. Sue Amadore read a story of how herparents met during the Second World War, They wer BOTH in service at the time.

In closing, Brothers, when we signed the application to become a Member of theLoyal Order of Moose, We promised to increase Our Defending Circle so as to Pro-vide for Our Children at Mooseheart and for Our Seniors at Moosehaven. We needyour best efforts to sign up new members so that we can continue with the successthat we have had for the last three years and to Honor the commitment that we madewhen we joined. I leave it in your hands.

A man calls home to his wife and says, "Honey, I have been asked to flyto Canada with my boss and several of his friends for fishing... We'll begone for a long weekend. This is a good opportunity for me to get thatpromotion I've been wanting so could you please pack enough clothesfor a 3 day weekend. And also would you get out my rod and tackle boxfrom the attic ? We're leaving at 4:30 PM from the office and I willswing by the house to pick my things up..

'Oh! And please pack my new navy blue silk pajamas.'

The wife thinks this sounds a bit odd, but, being the good wife, she doesexactly what her husband asked.

Following the long weekend, he came home a little tired, but, otherwise,looking good. The wife welcomes him home and asks if he caught manyfish? He says, 'Yes! Lots of Walleyes, some Bass, and a few Pike.

He said, 'But why didn't you pack my new blue silk pajamas like I askedyou to do?'

{You'll love the answer}

The wife replies, "I did. They're in your tackle box."
