Welcome to Tor RFC Minis and Juniors Second Newsletter. Christmas is rapidly approaching and amongst other important milestones, this means we are halfway through the season. We have much to celebrate and much to look forward to! Please let us know what you think, about how the improvements we have made in the running of the club this season have gone, the club belongs to all of us, but without your feedback and support, we can’t maintain our drive to continuously improve. Tor RFC Minis & Juniors Dec 2016 It’s been a bit of a challenging couple of weeks with the weather causing some problems for the pitch drainage system, but with Andrew’s hard work, these have now been fixed –thanks for your patience! Unfortunately we did have to postpone the inter schools match for the local YR7s (U12s) but we still managed to get some new faces over from Huish to take part in the home matches against Taunton, hopefully we will see them again at North Petherton. It’s a primary aim of the club and the RFU this year, to focus on developing the U12s, keeping them together, boosting squad numbers and arranging fixtures and events for this group. As we look to develop our over 13’s and above, they will be spearheading our youth section for many seasons to come, we want to commit to keeping these guys playing rugby together all the way to Colts squads. So come on Yr7’s don’t be shy get involved get your non- playing mates to give it a try, or those that play at school but not for a club and feel a bit unsure, bring them down, get a free T-shirt (and food!) Have a run around, have a laugh see how you get on! Youth Section Development Fusce mollis tempus felis. Contents: Welcome to Tors second newsletter Youth Section Development Exeter Chiefs Christmas! Glastonbury  Fun  Run    Last  year  we  entered  as

many  kids  as  possible  in  the  Glastonbury  Fun  Run,

both  as  a  way  to  raise  much  needed  funds,  but  also

to  raise  the  profile  of  the  club  and  hand  out  the  odd

flyer.    Those  that  took  part  really  enjoyed  it  and  it

would  be  great  to  go  one  step  further  this  year  and

enter  even  more  kids  AND  PARENTS,  into  one  of

the  various  distances.    The  run  is

scheduled  for  the  30th  April,  so  if  you

need  to  blow  the  dust  off  your

trainers  before  the  event,  now  is  as

good  a  time  as  any!

Kids  Christmas  Party!

Volunteering

The  club  has  been  very  fortunate  to  have  a  core  group  of  volunteers  who  man  the  kitchen  each  week,  raising  vital  funds

to  pay  for  new  equipment,  coaching  courses,  the  Christmas  party  and  the  trip  to  Exeter  Chiefs.

Thank  you  to  all  those  who  helped  out  over  Glastonbury  Carnival,  it  felt  like  we  made  thousands  of  pizzas  on  Saturday

night,  Dominos  eat  you  heart  out!

Without  the  volunteers  the  club  simply

cannot  exist,  those  thank  you  to  those  who

continue  to  give  their  time  for  our  kids  but

please  if  you  want  to  get  involved  in  any  way,

want  to  help  coach,  bake  cakes,  organize

fixtures  or  help  in  any  other  way,  speak  to

one  of  the  coaches  or  current  volunteers.
