We appreciate the time you took to visit our booth and show your support. We received numerous testimonials of how our products are so well received by your customers. Thank you for so much sharing – it was heartwarming and encouraging. However, this letter is to provide an update of the availability of products for this coming fall. Many of you are aware of and were affected by the Pilgrim’s Pride, voluntary recall that occurred early April 2016 with the subsequent expansions that included products made for Asian Food Solutions (AFS). For ourselves and on behalf of our customers, AFS has made numerous and earnest requests for an explanation of the current situation at the Pilgrim’s WACO facility, an outline of corrective actions Pilgrim’s has taken to address the issues and a timeline for production and availability of AFS Green Dragon “Asian” chicken products (see attached letter). After careful consideration and in the best interest of our customers’ operational needs, we encourage you to remove our Asian chicken products from your menus until mid to late October. We are hopeful that this will provide adequate time for Pilgrim’s to continue to implement their corrective actions and to produce enough inventory of all AFS Green Dragon SKUs to prevent further delays and shortages when you resume placing orders. The most helpful information you can provide today is a forecast of products by quantity and flavor with menu dates to insure your purchase orders are fulfilled completely and timely. We sincerely apologize for the changes and inconvenience this will cause. If there are any additional changes, we will inform you as soon as possible. (Please also note that AFS non-chicken items were NOT affected by the recall and are available for purchase and delivery.) This is truly a frustrating circumstance. We appreciate your understanding, patience and support as we wait through their restoration process. Pilgrim’s has been in communications with AFS on a continuous basis through this entire ordeal. We recognize the challenges they face as they bear the burden of this enormous task. If we can champion one perspective on their behalf, it would that Pilgrim’s has demonstrated an earnest desire to create a “World Class Operation” by taking the necessary time to improve operations at the WACO plant, strengthening their customer service communications and holding themselves accountable. We believe in our strategic partnership with them and that it will have long term benefits for everyone. It is our deepest hope that Asian Food Solutions can continue to earn your business. It was good to see so many of you in San Antonio for ANC this year. We appreciate the time you took to visit our booth and show your support. We received numerous testimonials of how our products are so well received by your customers. Thank you for so much sharing – it was heartwarming and encouraging.
