Learn how to train colleagues from different regions of the world in online debating

The aim of the Debate Team Leader Training is to enhance young people’s parliamentary debate skills, such as: building arguments, active listening and rebuttal, organisation of speeches and the use of a specific format for discussion. Participants are first taught to listen, understand, and absorb what others in the group are saying before responding to the messages being relayed.

For who?The course is open to anyone between the ages of 18-30 and is a resident in one of the Erasmus+ programme countries or Southern Mediterranean countries.

Enhance your dialogue and debate skills

Debate ExchangeThe Debate Exchange activity provides a better understanding of the intercultural youth-led debate methodology, equipping participants with debate and dialogue techniques used to draw out key issues, evidence and proposals to participate more effectively in their communities.

It’s core programme is supported by resources for advocacy, including evidence-based examples, cultural intelligence, and digital media campaigns. It offers a wider insight into the trends and issues connecting young people on the two shores of the Mediterranean.

Train your peersAfter the Team Leader training, team leaders deliver local training for peers in their communities, aiming to form a local debate team. Finally, the Team Leader registers its self-trained team in an Online Debate (another session of the Debate Exchange activity).

Team leaders are provided access to resources containing materials to support the development of their debate club and how to participate in the Online Debates.
