Dear Students and Arbitrators, It gives us great pleasure to invite you to the 2nd ICC/KLRCA Pre-Moot for the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot which will take place in Kuala Lumpur from 2-4 March 2018.

Please note that the 2nd ICC-KLRCA Pre-Moot will be preceded by the AIAC YPG Conference for Students and Young Practitioners on 1-2 March 2018. Attendance is free of charge and the stipend for participants of the Pre-Moot may cover accommodation on the day of the Conference.

To this day, 62 teams from more than 15 countries have already confirmed their participation in the upcoming edition of the Pre-Moot (Afghanistan, Australia, Brazil, Cambodia, China, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, South Korea, Sri Lanka, United States of America, and Vietnam, among others). we are now supported by 17 organisations and are expanding the list of sponsors and prizes, as well as organising multiple educational and social events. We are also making our calendar of hearings more comfortable for students and arbitrators.

AWARDS

Awards include, among others, prizes for the three best teams, for the three best speakers, for the best memoranda, multiple honourable mentions, internships at the KLRCA and cash prizes (support for the costs to go to the Vienna/ Hong Kong Vis Moots).

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Financial assistance to cover the accommodation costs of team members may be obtained for registered teams from outside of Kuala Lumpur. A limited number of stipends is available upon request. Teams may select either Option A or Option B below no later than 31st January 2018.

OPTION A (recommended for teams with 4-5 members)

5D4N Accommodation (1st March – 5th March 2018)

3 Star Hotel within close proximity to the KLRCA (8-minute walk) and KL Sentral (6-minute walk) which is a National transportation hub with direct train to and from KL International Airport. This booking includes two rooms (2 persons per room; additional bed (+1) can be arranged upon request should there be a 5th team member).

As this is expected to be the official pre-moot hotel, the final point for transportation for social events will end here.

OPTION B

Stipend in the amount of RM1,000 can be collected upon registration at the KLRCA (any time starting from from 1st March 2018).

* For option B, the Organising Committee does not guarantee accommodation at the official pre-moot hotel.
