We are looking forward to a producve partnership with you to insure your sons can achieve their highest potenal. We recognize that in order to be successful in school, your sons need support from both home and school. As partners, we share the responsi- bility for your sons’ success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilies. September 2015 Please understand that visible parental parcipaon in school acvies directly contributes to the success of our students. We en- courage you to get involved. Throughout the year, we need assistance with Lunch Duty and on the Hospitality Team to serve at school funcons. Many events require planning and on-site volunteers; these include: “Return to Severn” Homecoming Pep Rally & Bonfire – Friday, October 2, 2015 Mother/Son Luncheon & Mass – Saturday, January 30, 2016 Celebrity Waiters Dinner & Aucon – Saturday, April 30, 2016 Project Prom (parents of all grade levels needed) – Friday, May 13, 2016 Father/Son Raider Road Rally – Spring date to be set To find out more about our volunteer needs, please contact Parent Booster President Amanda Reed by email at [email protected] or on her cell at 504-982-1220. As we enter September our retreat program kicks off with our new 8th graders having their first retreat as Rummel Raiders on September 8th and with our Senior Leaders retreat on Sep-tember 10th and 11th. One of the most im-

portant things you can do for your sons is to pray for them, particu-larly for the 8th graders as they begin their high school careers with their first retreat as Raiders. Saint Thomas Aquinas, patron saint of students, offers the following prayer: Come, Holy Spirit, Divine Creator, true source of light and fountain of wisdom! Pour forth your brilliance upon my dense intellect, dissi-pate the darkness which covers me, that of sin and of ignorance. Grant me a penetrating mind to understand, a retentive memory, method and ease in learning, the lucidity to comprehend, and abundant grace in expressing myself. Guide the beginning of my work, direct its progress, and bring it to successful completion. This I ask through Jesus Christ, true God and true man, living and reign-ing with You and the Father, forever and ever. Amen.
